City Council meeting of November 20, 1995 Page FIFE HALL REPORT The Council reviewed the recommendation of the citizens` committee appointed to determine the needs for a new Fire Hall in the community, as well as separate information provided by the City Administrator and the Fire Department. Committee chairman, Wally Stoltzman, was present statinq that there was a strong difference in opinion on the best way to resolve the existing housing problem. LeroUx made motion, Barnes seconded, to table action on the Fire Hall report until the Council meeting of December 18, 1995 to allow members of the Committee to provide additional comments, if they desire. All aye. Motion Carried. LaValle made motion, Barnes seconded, to accept the report of the Fire Hall Needs Committee, thanking them for their time and effort to serve the community. All aye. Motion Carried. OAK -.SHORE PARK FEASIBILITY REPORT The Council received the City Engineer's feasibility report for the construction of improvements inclUdinq sewer, water, storm sewer, and streets for the Oakshore Park subdivision, as well as a stretch of Ethan Avenue south to 1^_'nd Street. Barnes made motion, Goiffon seconded, to adopt RESOLUTION 95-20, A RESOLUTION RECEIVING REPORT AND CALLING HEARING ON IMPROVEMENT FOR THE OAk::SHORE PARK. SUBDIVISION. VOTING AYE: Barnes, Goiffon, LaValle, Leroux, Miron All aye. Motion Carried. Miron made motion, LaValle seconded, directing City staff to schedule an informational meeting with Oakshore Park residents prior to the public hearing of January 8, 1996. All aye. Motion Carried. F..".LMCREST AVENUE SPEED LIMIT The City Council requested that. MNDOT conduct a speed study on Elmcrest Avenue, between 129th Street Arid CSAH 8. Their report recommends that three speed zones be established on this stretch of Elmcrest Avenue at 7.5 mph, 40 mph, and 45 mph. Miron made motion, LeroUX seconded, to adopt RESOLUTION 95-21, A RESOLUTION CALLING FOR THE POSTING OF SPEED LIMITS ON ELMCREST AVENUE BETWEEN 129TH STREET AND CSAH 8.
