City Council meeting of November 20, 1995 <br />Page <br />FIFE HALL REPORT <br />The Council reviewed the recommendation of the citizens` committee <br />appointed to determine the needs for a new Fire Hall in the community, as <br />well as separate information provided by the City Administrator and the <br />Fire Department. Committee chairman, Wally Stoltzman, was present statinq <br />that there was a strong difference in opinion on the best way to resolve <br />the existing housing problem. <br />LeroUx made motion, Barnes seconded, to table action on the Fire Hall <br />report until the Council meeting of December 18, 1995 to allow members of <br />the Committee to provide additional comments, if they desire. <br />All aye. Motion Carried. <br />LaValle made motion, Barnes seconded, to accept the report of the Fire <br />Hall Needs Committee, thanking them for their time and effort to serve the <br />community. <br />All aye. Motion Carried. <br />OAK -.SHORE PARK FEASIBILITY REPORT <br />The Council received the City Engineer's feasibility report for the <br />construction of improvements inclUdinq sewer, water, storm sewer, and <br />streets for the Oakshore Park subdivision, as well as a stretch of Ethan <br />Avenue south to 1^_'nd Street. <br />Barnes made motion, Goiffon seconded, to adopt RESOLUTION 95-20, A <br />RESOLUTION RECEIVING REPORT AND CALLING HEARING ON IMPROVEMENT FOR THE <br />OAk::SHORE PARK. SUBDIVISION. <br />VOTING AYE: Barnes, Goiffon, LaValle, Leroux, Miron <br />All aye. Motion Carried. <br />Miron made motion, LaValle seconded, directing City staff to schedule an <br />informational meeting with Oakshore Park residents prior to the public <br />hearing of January 8, 1996. <br />All aye. Motion Carried. <br />F..".LMCREST AVENUE SPEED LIMIT <br />The City Council requested that. MNDOT conduct a speed study on Elmcrest <br />Avenue, between 129th Street Arid CSAH 8. Their report recommends that <br />three speed zones be established on this stretch of Elmcrest Avenue at 7.5 <br />mph, 40 mph, and 45 mph. <br />Miron made motion, LeroUX seconded, to adopt RESOLUTION 95-21, A <br />RESOLUTION CALLING FOR THE POSTING OF SPEED LIMITS ON ELMCREST AVENUE <br />BETWEEN 129TH STREET AND CSAH 8. <br />VOTING AYE: Barnes, Goiffon, LaValle, LeroU.;, Miron <br />Motion Carried. <br />
