Planning Commission Meeting March 27, 2003- page 3
suggested that she install a yard fence and Malaski agreed saying a berm would provide a false
sense of security.
Doug Youel, 4749 122nd St. N., asked if the City would improve the portion of 122nd St. that
floods. Bono said there were no definite plans yet on how the entrance to the development off
122nd St. would look. Youel said he was also concerned about phosphorous going into the lake.
The resident at 4753 126th St. Ct. N., said the road floods at 122nd St. N. and many motorists drive
too fast on the curve. The resident also asked how the power would be brought into the
development, overhead or underground. He said he would be interested in having the power to
his property located underground. Schumann said it would be decided by Xcel Energy engineers
but would probably be located underground.
Bill Servatius, 12270 Europa Ave. N. said he was concerned about the pond not holding water and
water draining into Lake Aire Estates.
Dale Pelletier, 12185 Everton Ave. N., suggested a stop sign be located at the corner of Everton
Ave. N. and 122nd St. N. because cars often enter into the oncoming lane when driving too fast
around the bend.
There were no other comments and Schumann closed the public hearing.
Malaski expressed concern about the trail easement between lots 5 and 6 that would connect the
cul-de-sac to Outlot A and asked if berming or fencing could be constructed along the easment.
Bono said they could consider planting trees to block the trail from the homes.
Malaski asked if there was to be lighting on the monument sign. Bono said there was no definite
plans yet on what the monument sign would look like but they typically did not have lighting.
Malaski thanked the developers for working with the City on the plat and for obtaining the
easement for the connection to the sewer.
Schumann suggested the City consider options for the low area along 122nd St. N. to alleviate
some of the water that collects along the curve.
Kleissler said she was concerned about the safety of those who will be driving into and out of the
development. She asked why the street was so wide compared to 122nd St. N.. Bono replied that
they were trying to get close to City standards and agreed to install a 26 -foot wide road. 122nd St.
N. is a 22 -foot wide road in that area.
Bailly said she liked the road being constructed down the center of the plat verses along the east
side, which would create double frontage lots. The Commission agreed.
Peltier asked if the ponds could be made larger and Bono stated that the plat was reviewed by Pete
Willenbring, City Water Resource Engineer, and the ponds were found to be sufficient.
