Planning Commission Meeting May 8, 2003 page 3 <br />Rosenquist suggested a letter be sent to all business at the site to caution them on the noise <br />complaints. The Community Development Director said he would ask Washington County Sheriffs <br />Department to patrol the area. <br />Rosenquist asked how much material would be stored on the site. Iwan said approximately 200 cubic <br />yards of woodchips and mulch and approximately 500 yards of dirt. <br />Kleissler asked if the woodchips or mulch would be treated with any chemicals and if any measures <br />would be taken for rodent control. <br />Iwan said nothing would be treated with chemicals and he had not given much thought to rodent <br />control but will address the problem should it occur. <br />Peltier said she thought they should change the opening hours from 6:30 am to 7:00 am. <br />Schumann asked what type of business they would be conducting during the winter and Iwan said <br />they would be doing snow removal and supplying materials to contractors. Iwan said most <br />contracting jobs started at 7:00 am and that was why he wanted to open his business at 6:30 am. <br />McRoberts asked what other activities were taking place on the site. Iwan said other businesses <br />were Mateo Excavating, which had five trucks; a tennis court sealer company; a roll -off company, <br />a concrete company, which had three trucks and a bobcat; and National Recycling Company who <br />rented outside storage space to store a semi -trailer. <br />Rosenquist made motion, McRoberts seconded, to tabled action in order for staff to re -inspect the <br />site to determine how many and what type of businesses were located on the property. <br />All ayes. Motion carried. <br />Schumann stated that the Commission would reopen the public hearing at that time. <br />Amendment to Comprehensive Plan to Adiust MUSA Boundary <br />The commission considered the application of the City of Hugo for a Comprehensive Plan <br />Amendment to include approximately 84 gross acres (46 net acres) within the MUSA. The <br />property is east of Highway 61 and south of 165th Street. <br />The Community Development Director provided background saying that the request was tabled at <br />the April 10 and April 24 Planning Commission meeting. Staff had met with Beverly Aplikowski <br />and Frank Puleo on April 30, 2003 and discussed options for serving the properties with <br />municipal sewer. <br />Vice Chairperson Malaski opened the public hearing but there were no comments. <br />
