Hugo Planning Commission July 25, 1979 Page 2 of 4 The regular meeting was called to order at 8:21 PM. PRESENT: Peloquin, Hanson, Greger, Houle, McAllister and Peltier Motion made by Peloquin, seconded by Greger, to approve the minutes of July 11, 1979, as presented. All aye. Motion Carried. CURT LEIBEL - REZONING AND SPECIAL USE PERMIT Consideration was given for the rezoning from SFE to RB and request for Special Use Permit to operate a marina and related business. Motion made by McAllister, seconded by Greger, to recommend denial of the application of Darrell Tavernier for rezoning from SFE to RB at 4444 129th Street North. The Planning Commission feels that it would be spot rezoning and would not be beneficial to the City of Hugo to put a RB zone in a primarily rural residential and lakeshore resi- dential area. VOTING FOR: Greger, Hanson and McAllister VOTING AGAINST: Peloquin, Houle and Peltier Motion Failed, McAllister suggested that the no votes consider whether that operation would be an asset in that area. McAllister had no objection to the conditions as they are now, but not in favor of intensification. Peloquin made motion to go on to next item on the agenda and let the City Council decide. Lotion failed for lack of second. Carl Dale agreed that this would be considered spot rezoning, and would be poor zoning practice. If area was rezoned, would have to contend with what could possibly move in there if the marina business failed. 'Notion made by McAllister, seconded by Greger, to reconsider the pre— vious motion. VOTING FOR: I•'anson, Greger, Houle and TicAllister VOTING AGAINST: Peloquin and Peltier T?otion Carried. Motion made by McAllister, seconded by Peltier, to table the request of Curt Leibel for a Special Use Permit to op me a marina until the meeting of August 8, 1979. fatter tabled pending action by the City Council on request for rezoning.
