Hugo Planning Coramissi on March 14, 1979 Page 2 of 4 Ehret asked how familiar -the applicantsiwith the Comprehensive Plan. Brevig stated that he had read the plan three times, and would like to more input as far as parks in the city. Houle and Poferl stated that they were unfamiliar with the plan. Hanson stated he was not that familiar with plan either. (PE,LTIER ARRIVED AT 7:33 P11). Brevig felt that ordinances should be used as guidelines rather than stringent rules. Hanson and Houle stated that the cite should try and stick with the re— gulations, and enforce them to the best of the city's ability. Brevig said that some rules become outdated, and people do not want to be hassled by the Planning Commission and City Council. 1 -ie felt that Hugo had a bad reputation in their dealings with people trying to start in— dustrial business in Hugo. All the applicants wanted to limit the industrial/to smaller type business. growth E'lret expressed thanks to the applicants for their show of interest to serve on the Commission. The recommendations would be made at the end of the meeting. After determination is made by the Council, they will be notified by the Clerk's office. The regular meeting of the Planning Commission was called to order by Chairman Ehret at 3:06 .PI.1. ROBERT DOTTE — SITE PLAN i,1r. Dotte is requesting permission to construct a 40' x 60' pole barn to be used in the storage of equipment in relation to his sod farm operation. He oirns 75 acres, and the land zoned Conservancy. Because the barn consitutes construction of an accessory building prior to the primarv, Ilr. Dotte will need a Special Use Permit rather. than Site Plan !'approval. The following information is to be provided: 1. Lore detailed plan of building. 2. Location of building (setbacks) 3. Specific use of the building 4. Elevations with respect to surroundi:1c; terrain 5. :'roof of oemership 6. Tumber of employees 7.
