Hugo Planning Coramissi on <br />March 14, 1979 <br />Page 2 of 4 <br />Ehret asked how familiar -the applicantsiwith the Comprehensive Plan. <br />Brevig stated that he had read the plan three times, and would like to <br />more input as far as parks in the city. Houle and Poferl stated that <br />they were unfamiliar with the plan. Hanson stated he was not that <br />familiar with plan either. (PE,LTIER ARRIVED AT 7:33 P11). Brevig felt <br />that ordinances should be used as guidelines rather than stringent rules. <br />Hanson and Houle stated that the cite should try and stick with the re— <br />gulations, and enforce them to the best of the city's ability. Brevig <br />said that some rules become outdated, and people do not want to be <br />hassled by the Planning Commission and City Council. 1 -ie felt that Hugo <br />had a bad reputation in their dealings with people trying to start in— <br />dustrial business in Hugo. All the applicants wanted to limit the <br />industrial/to smaller type business. <br />growth <br />E'lret expressed thanks to the applicants for their show of interest <br />to serve on the Commission. The recommendations would be made at the <br />end of the meeting. Dotte is requesting permission to construct a 40' x 60' pole barn <br />to be used in the storage of equipment in relation to his sod farm <br />operation. He oirns 75 acres, and the land zoned Conservancy. Because <br />the barn consitutes construction of an accessory building prior to the <br />primarv, Ilr. Dotte will need a Special Use Permit rather. than Site Plan <br />!'approval. The following information is to be provided: <br />1. Lore detailed plan of building. <br />2. Location of building (setbacks) <br />3. Specific use of the building <br />4. Elevations with respect to surroundi:1c; terrain <br />5. :'roof of oemership <br />6. Tumber of employees <br />7.
