Planning Commission <br /> December 8, 1976 <br /> Page 2 <br /> Mr. Spitzer placed the name of Larry Funk for consideration. Mr. Funk <br /> lives on Foxhill. Mr. Funk works for NSP and has been very active in <br /> community affairs. <br /> Spitzer also stated that Mike Gillen should be considered as a can- <br /> didate. <br /> Peloquin questioned whether the new council should be the people to <br /> appoint the Planning Commission as done in some years past. Spitzer <br /> stated that this is no longer true. Commission now looks for some <br /> kind of balance. Peloquin stated that the local businessmen are not <br /> interested in participating. Most of them don't even live in Hugo. <br /> He would like to see some kind of representation from them, because <br /> Hugo is not just rural. <br /> Motion made by Ehret, seconded by Rosenquist, that we do not recommend <br /> any one individual for appointment, but request that the City Council <br /> review our minutes and make appointments to fill the seats from the <br /> names of - Mike McAllister, Al Lemker, Jim Metry, Larry Funk, and <br /> Mike Gillen. <br /> Greger - I think we should recommend Mike Gillen to the City Council. <br /> g44-en made motion, seconded by Peltier, to amend the motion that we <br /> will not recommend on 4, but does recommend Mike Gillen for appoint- <br /> ment, and decline on other vacancies. <br /> Gillen - Is it proper to split motion? <br /> Motion made by Rosenquist, seconded by Peltier, to recommend the <br /> appointment of Mike Gillen for a full term in the seat he now fills. <br /> VOTING FOR: Ehret, Peltier, Peloquin, Rosenquist, and Greger <br /> ABSTAINED: Spitzer and ' illen <br /> MOTION CARRIED <br /> Motion made by Ehret, seconded by Rosenquist, to decline to recommend <br /> to the City Council for the remaining vacancies. City Council to review <br /> these minutes and make a choice. <br /> VOTING FOR: Ehret, Peltier, Peloquin, Rosenquist, Greger, and Gillen <br /> ABSTAINED: Spitzer <br /> MOTION CARRIED <br /> Ron Baker - Lakeview Inn <br /> Mr. Baker was present to find out if a Special Use Permit would be <br /> legal in his case. Present use can be considered a resort. Mr. Baker <br /> would like to repair marine equipment, and in general, deal in second <br /> had marine equipment. Spitzer stated if used equipment is handled, <br /> this results in intensification and beyond. Mr. * Spitzer felt Baker <br /> had three possible options: <br /> 1. Proceed with operation without selling used marine equipment, <br /> 2. Request that the area be rezoned from SFE to industrial which <br /> could be handled with a Special Use Permit. <br />
