VII. Other
Taylor asked for discussion on determining active/passive status for the Future Park
property and recommending to the City Council an update of the list of Active and
Passive Parks found in the Comprehensive Plan.
Clarke made a motion, Larsen second to label the Hansen property as a passive park
and make changes to the list of parks.
All Aye. Motion Carried.
VIII. Other: Hanifl Shelter and Skate Park Update
Scott Anderson, Public Works Director gave an update on the construction progress on
the Hanifl shelter. Construction had a few issues on meeting the time line with current
carpentry delays. Once discussed with the general contractor, changes in staffing
occurred to bring the service up to necessary requirements and to meet the agreed upon
expectations and finishing date. Construction is now on track and progress is exciting.
Scott Anderson, Public Works Director updated on the skate park. Litter and unwanted
items have been at the site on a few occasions. Anderson suggested locking down the
skate park when it has been vandalized to encourage peer and self monitoring of
vandalism. All Commission members agreed.
IX. Adjournment
Clarke made a motion, Birch seconded to adjourn the meeting at 10:05 pm.
-5—
Parks Commission
October 13, 2010
