Wilson Tool has held their employee <br />appreciation picnic for several years at Lions Park and the past two years at Hanifl with no impact <br />to the health, safety, and welfare of the residents or attendees. Staff recommends Council approve <br />the Special Event Permit for the Wilson Tool Company Picnic subject to the conditions in the <br />staff memo. <br />G.6 Approve Special Event Permit for New Life Church Summer and Fall Events <br />New Life Church, 6000 148th Street North, has applied for a Special Event Permit to hold outdoor <br />events on Sunday, June 10 and Sunday October 7, 2018. A Special Event Permit approve by <br />Council is required because they will be using an amplified sound system. The June event will be <br />an outdoor service at 9 a.m. followed by a potluck. The October event is an outdoor gathering <br />with potluck, hayrides, and outdoor games. Staff recommends Council approve the Special <br />Event Permit for the New Life Church Spring and Fall events subject to the conditions in the staff <br />memo. <br />G.7 Approve Sale of Fire Department Vehicle #Ul (#4216) <br />The Hugo Fire Department is looking to sell the 2006 Ford Expedition in their fleet that was <br />recently replaced with a new vehicle. The City of Princeton Fire Department would like to <br />purchase the Expedition for $5,000.00. The Hugo Fire Department feels that this is a fair price <br />for the vehicle, as trade in value is estimated at $4,200.00. By selling the Expedition to the <br />Princeton Fire Department, the Hugo Fire Department would also save the costs of having to <br />remove the lights, sirens, and decals from the vehicle because the Princeton Fire Department will <br />continue to use it to respond to emergency situations. Staff recommends Council approve the sale <br />of the 2006 Ford Expedition #U1 (#4216) to the City of Princeton Fire Department in the amount <br />of $5,000.00. <br />G.8 Approve Preliminary Plat and Final Plat for Weston Estates <br />Mike Cressman, on behalf of his mother Janice Cressman, 6085 165th Street North, has applied <br />for a Preliminary Plan and Final Plat to be known as Weston Estates. Cressman owns the strip of <br />land between the existing parcels that appears to have been created at one time for a future road, <br />but the property was tax forfeited in 1987. The applicant is not proposing development of any <br />property, but proposing to modify the property lines and combine parcels within this area to <br />reduce non -conformities and the number of total parcels. Staff recommends approval of the <br />preliminary plat and final plat, subject to the conditions listed in the attached resolutions. <br />G.9 Approve Hiring of Steve Duff as a Seasonal Public Works Engineering Technician <br />City staff recently met with former Senior Engineering Technician Steve Duff to discuss the <br />possibility of seasonal employment to assist with ongoing engineering functions throughout the <br />City. The City has been unsuccessful in filling the vacant Engineering Technician position since <br />Steve's retirement in January. Staff expects to re -advertise and continue the search to fill the <br />vacant position in the early fall. Meanwhile, the City will be relying on a combination of Public <br />Works staff, WSB and Associates staff, and Steve Duff to continue to perform the essential <br />engineering tasks. Staff is requesting Council approve the hiring of Steve Duff as a Seasonal <br />Engineering Technician, with the expectations of working approximately '/2 time (40 hours per 2 <br />week pay period) at a pay rate of $30 per hour as needed throughout the summer and fall of 2018. <br />
