G.9 Approve Hiring of Hugo Residents Jacob Jorgenson and Timothy Olson as <br />Probationary Firefighters <br />Jacob Jorgenson and Timothy Olson have completed all the necessary requirements to be hired <br />as probationary firefighters. In addition to being available evenings and weekends, both have <br />daytime availability within their work schedule. Staff recommends Council approve the hiring <br />of Jacob Jorgenson and Timothy Olson as probationary firefighters on the Hugo Fire <br />Department. <br />G.10 Approve Hiring of Lino Lakes Resident William Lusk as Probationary Firefighter <br />William Lusk has completed all the necessary requirements to be hired as a probationary <br />firefighter. William lives eight minutes away beyond the west edge of Hugo in Lino Lakes, <br />however he is employed with Schwieters and works behind the fire station. Schwieters will <br />permit William leave work for daytime calls. Staff recommends Council make an exception to <br />the City Code, which requires firefighters to reside within a six -minute radius of the Fire Hall, <br />and approve the hiring of William Lusk as a probationary firefighter on the Hugo Fire <br />Department. <br />G.11 Approve Lawful Gambling Exempt Permit for North St. Paul, Maplewood, Oakdale <br />Rotary Club for Event at Wild Wings on September 14, 2018 <br />The North St. Paul, Maplewood, Oakdale Rotary have applied for a Lawful Gambling Exempt <br />Permit to conduct raffles at their event at Wild Wings on September 14, 2018. Staff <br />recommends Council approve the Lawful Gambling Exempt Permit for the Rotary Club. <br />G.12 Approve Appointment of David Fry to the Hugo Planning Commission <br />G.13 Approve Appointment of Shawn Haag to the Hugo Parks Commission <br />G.14 Approve Appointment of Maria Mulvihill to the Hugo Board of Zoning Appeals and <br />Adjustments <br />On July 17, 2018, Council conducted interviews of six individuals to fill vacancies on Hugo's <br />commissions. Staff continues to work on the logistics of having alternate members on the <br />commissions and will be bringing forth a recommendation to Council at a future meeting. Staff <br />recommends Council appoint David Fry to the Hugo Planning Commission, Shawn Haag to the <br />Hugo Parks Commission, and Maria Mulvihill to the Hugo Board of Zoning Appeals and <br />Adjustments. <br />H.1 Public Hearing on Vacation of Drainage and Utility Easement on Oneka Place <br />Development for Prairie Village Development <br />CPDC- Pratt -Oakwood, LLP, is requesting a vacation of the existing drainage and utility <br />easement located over a parcel that will be used for the development of Oneka Place. The <br />drainage and utility easement was used for drainage from the Prairie Village development to the <br />south. The drainage from that area will be incorporated into the Oneka Place development. New <br />drainage and utility easements will be placed on the lots at the time the final plat is recorded. <br />Staff is comfortable with the request to vacate the drainage and utility easements. Staff <br />recommends that the City Council approve the notice to vacate the drainage and utility easement. <br />
