P.3 <br />Joe Houle 2017 EDA Goals... <br />In December of each year, the EDA has a goal setting session to set priorities for the <br />Cindy Petty year ahead. These become the outline for what the EDA works on and completes <br />throughout the year. Below are the goals which include action items that the EDA <br />Mike Granger, worked on during 2017. <br />Alternate Member • Downtown Redevelopment <br />• Maintain a Business Friendly Environment <br />• Marketing/Promotion of the City <br />• Comprehensive Planning Process <br />• Partnerships <br />A Year in Review... <br />EDA <br />This Annual Report is designed to showcase many of the commercial and industrial <br />Commissioners: <br />businesses that have located in Hugo and other economic development activity <br />during 2017. The goal of the Hugo Economic Development Authority (EDA) is to <br />Tom Weidt, <br />create a thriving community with diverse jobs and tax base, brought about by spe- <br />President <br />cific emphasis on business retention, business expansion, and business attraction. <br />Hugo's business community is expanding due to strong residential growth and an <br />Phil Klein, <br />attractive business environment. The City issued 67 new single-family residential <br />Vice President <br />permits, 8 multifamily permits, and 9 commercial and industrial construction per- <br />mits issued this year. The valuation of the commercial and industrial construction <br />Tom Denaway <br />completed in the City in 2017 totaled $6.5 million. In this Annual Report, the EDA <br />highlights development project updates, EDA business activities, and the marketing <br />Frank Puleo <br />of City owned property in downtown Hugo.
