Hugo City Council Meeting Minutes for March 1, 2021 <br />Page 4 of 11 <br />Approve Promotion of David Jensen to Deputy Chief on the Hugo Fire Department <br />Interviews were held on February 4, 2021, for a new Hugo Fire Department Deputy Chief. The <br />position became vacant when former Deputy Chief Jim Compton, Jr. was promoted to the Fire <br />Chief position. Adoption of the Consent Agenda approved the promotion of David Jensen to <br />Deputy Chief on the Hugo Fire Department effective March 1, 2021. <br />Approve Resolutions Approving the Preliminary Plat, Planned Unit Development, and <br />Comprehensive Plan Amendment for the Meadows at Hugo Development <br />Golden Valley Land Company had applied for a preliminary plat, planned unit development, and <br />comprehensive plan amendment for a residential development to be known as "The Meadows at <br />Hugo." The proposed site was 32.93 acres and located north of 159th Street North and west of <br />Highway 61. The preliminary plat proposed a total of 87 single family lots and six outlots. The <br />Hugo Planning Commission held a public hearing at their February 11, 2021, meeting and <br />recommend that the City Council approve the preliminary plat, planned unit development, and <br />comprehensive plan amendment applications for the residential development to be known as the <br />Meadows at Hugo. Adoption of the Consent Agenda approved RESOLUTION 2021-9 <br />APPROVING PRELIMINARY PLAT FOR GOLDEN VALLEY LAND COMPANY FOR <br />"THE MEADOWS AT HUGO" ON PROPERTY LOCATED NORTH OF 159TH STREET <br />NORTH AND WEST OF HIGHWAY 61, and RESOLUTION 2021- 10 APPROVING PUD <br />GENERAL PLAN FOR GOLDEN VALLEY LAND COMPANY FOR "THE MEADOWS AT <br />HUGO" ON PROPERTY LOCATED NORTH OF 159TH STREET NORTH AND WEST OF <br />HIGHWAY 61, and RESOLUTION 2021-11APPROVING A COMPRHENSIVE PLAN <br />AMENDMENT CHANGING MAP 11-4, 2040 SANITARY SEWER SYSTEM MAP. <br />Approve Donation to the Hugo Fire Department from the Hugo American Legion <br />The Hugo American Legion wanted to donate $2,100 to the Hugo Fire Department for training <br />and equipment. Donations to the Fire Department needed to be approved by Council. Adoption <br />of the Consent Agenda approved the donation of $2,100 to the Hugo Fire Department from the <br />Hugo American Legion. <br />Approve Authorization to Advertise for Dust Control <br />Staff had requested authorization from the City Council to advertise for bids for the City's 2021 <br />gravel road dust control project. The City of Hugo applies dust control to approximately 28 <br />miles of gravel roads located within its municipal boundaries. Following City Council approval, <br />staff would advertise and solicit bids through the City newspaper and hold a bid opening in early <br />April. This would be followed by the Council considering bids in April. The dust <br />control/stabilization would be applied in two separate applications, once in mid -May and again <br />in early to mid -August. Adoption of the Consent Agenda approved advertisement for bids for <br />the City's 2021 gravel road dust control project. <br />
