Updated: 4/15/2021

b. Protocols applicable to everyone whom the Society makes accommodations.

VEHICLES
1. Staff Vehicles/ Supply Trucks
a. Where possible, vehicles must be driven by only 1 individual for the entire event
weekend.
b. Ample sanitation supplies - hand sanitizer, hand wipes, and EPA recommended
disinfectants must be part of each vehicles pack-out.
c. All vehicles must be cleaned by the person transitioning out of the vehicle and
also those taking ownership - all high touch point areas must be cleaned
(steering wheel, armrests, shift knob, dashboard knobs, etc.) frequently and
thoroughly.
2. SAG
a. SAG support can continue to be offered but should be evaluated vs. state and
local public health guidance to determine physical distancing and capacity needs.
b. Capacity must be determined by vehicle size as a percentage of max occupancy
and spacing will be considered in that calculation. i.e. if the max capacity in a
vehicle is 5 and the max distance between passenger and driver allows for only 1
passenger then you have 2/5 or 40% capacity.
i. This decreased capacity per vehicle may result in a need for additional
vehicles, the use of larger vehicles to support the ride, or a decreased
SAG capacity.
c. A SAG vehicle may contain a SAG driver and a navigator given they are part of
the same household.
d. Drivers and passengers must wear facial coverings; all drivers must also wear
gloves.
e. Participants must load/unload their own bikes unless physically unable to do so,
then drivers can load while practicing safe physical distancing and sanitation
measures.
f. Upon departure from a vehicle, drivers must thoroughly clean vehicle surfaces
which the participant encountered including the bike rack. Hand sanitizer, extra
face masks and gloves must also be in each vehicle.
g. Participants are not be permitted in front seats.
3. Participant Shuttles/ Transportation
a. Work with your Sr. Director to determine i f it is possible not to offer participant
transportation. Follow the below guidelines if it is determined to be necessary:
i. Buses and shuttles must be run half capacity.
ii. Special attention must be paid to flow and layout to mitigate contact
(ground markings, corrals, seat staggering, partial capacity,
transportation schedule). Prior to booking third-party transportation
companies ensure their practices follow all state and local public health
guidelines.
