Staff recommends Council approval to hire <br />Anthony Jorgenson and Samuel Larsen as summer seasonal employees. <br /> <br />G.6 Approve Advertisement for Associate Planner Position in Community Development <br />Department <br /> <br />At its April 18, 2022, meeting, the Council authorized staff to advertise for a new community <br />development intern with the resignation of Emily Weber. Staff has not filled this position and <br />would like to hire an Associate Planner. Staff recommends Council approve the advertisement for <br />an Associate Planner for the Community Development Department. <br /> <br />G.7 Approve Promotion of Firefighter Jim Roettger to Engineer on the Hugo Fire <br />Department <br /> <br />Firefighter Jim Roettger was interviewed in late 2021 and offered an engineer’s position pending <br />the completion of a Fire Apparatus Operator class with Century College. Jimmy has successfully <br />completed that class and is ready to be promoted to Engineer. Fire Chief Jim Compton, Jr. <br />recommends Council approve Jim Roettger as Engineer effective June 1, 2022. <br /> <br />G.8 Approve Special Event Permit for Tough Mudder on July 9-10, 2022 <br /> <br />The Tough Mudder has applied for a Special Event Permit to hold their two- day endurance sport <br />event at Wild Wings Game Farm on July 9 and 10, 2022. This will be the sixth year the <br />event has been held at Wild Wings. A Special Event Permit approved by Council is required <br />because there will be approximately 10,000 people on site on Saturday and 3,000 on Sunday, <br />impacts to public streets, use of an amplified sound system, and alcohol served. Staff has <br />reviewed the application with Wild Wings, the Hugo Fire Department, and the Washington <br />County Sheriff’s Department and feels the event has been well planned. Staff recommends the <br />Council approve the Special Event Permit for the Tough Mudder event to be held on July 9-10, <br />2022, with the conditions attached to the permit. <br /> <br />G.9 Approve Temporary Liquor License for Hugo Lions Club for the Tough Mudder on <br />July 9-10, 2022 <br /> <br />The Hugo Lions Club has applied for a Temporary Liquor License to serve beer at the Tough <br />Mudder event on July 9 and 10, 2022. Beer will be supplied by Lake Monster Brewing, and race <br />participants will receive one free beer with the registration if they are 21+ years of age. <br />Identification will be checked and wristbands will be used. Approximately 87% of participants <br />are over 21 years of age. Two deputies will be located in the base area where alcohol is served. <br />Staff recommends Council approve the Temporary Liquor License for the Tough Mudder event <br />on July 9 and 10, 2022 <br /> <br />G.10 Approve Resolution Approving Lot Split at 5342 142nd Street North – Pastorius <br /> <br />Cathleen Pastorius is requesting approval of a lot split to create two lots out of a 1.23 acre lot. <br />The proposed lots are 0.73 acres and 0.50 acres. At its May 26, 2022, meeting the Planning <br />Commission held a public hearing and considered the request. Staff recommended approval of <br />the request.
