• Assist in City communications including production of the City’s newsletter, updates to the City’s <br />website, and social media engagement. <br />• Perform other special assignments and related routine work <br /> <br />Special Projects: <br />It is anticipated that one or more special projects will be assigned based on the needs of the City and the <br />strengths and interests of the Administrative Intern. Such projects will include highly responsible work, and <br />will have meaningful community or administrative impact. Focus areas for special projects may include: <br />• Communications and Facilities <br />• Parks, Recreation and Events <br />• Finance and Budgeting <br />• Human Resources <br />• Community Development and Planning <br />• Historic Preservation <br />• Fire and Rescue <br />• Strategic Planning and goal setting <br />Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: <br />• Knowledge of local government practices and procedures <br />• Knowledge of software programs, including Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Publisher, and PowerPoint) <br />• Ability to communicate clearly in both written and oral form <br />• Perform tasks assigned in an orderly and precise manner <br />• Coordinate, organize, and present research information derived from a variety of sources <br />• Working ability to interpret policies, directives and regulations, and implement them effectively <br />• Exercise resourcefulness in solving problems in accordance with the established rules, regulations, and <br />policies of the City <br />• Work independently and/or as a part of a team <br />• Work effectively with City employees, citizens, and elected officials <br />Minimum Qualifications: <br />Applicants should be a recent college graduate with a degree in public administration, political science, urban <br />studies or a related field.
