2h – Long term business plan <br />complete. <br />Complete. HSHC engaged a team of MBA students to <br />evaluate and provide recommendations for the long-term <br />business plan for HSHC. The findings of the report have <br />been incorporated into the long-term business plan for <br />HSHC. See attachment 6, p. 47. <br />3.Advance progress on <br />restoration of the building <br />2.5 of 3 Measures Complete <br />3a – Trash removed from interior of <br />the building; historical artifacts <br />from building interior catalogued. <br />Complete. On April 29, 2023, HSHC held a volunteer event <br />focused on cleaning out the inside of the schoolhouse and <br />identifying any historical artifacts that should be saved. <br />Volunteers hauled out trash and filled three dumpsters, and <br />Brad LeTourneau of the Hugo Historical Commission and <br />Justin Brink of the Forest Lake Historical Society identified <br />and cataloged artifacts. See attachment 7, p. 66. <br />3b – Temporary cover removed, <br />and permanent repair of the roof <br />and chimney completed. <br />Complete. The crew from Precise Exteriors removed the <br />temporary cover and completed repairs to the roof, and the <br />crew from Sealant Technicians completed the repairs to the <br />chimney during the month of September. See Attachment <br />8, 67. <br />3c – Soffit and front stairs <br />repaired. <br />Mostly Complete. The crew from Northern Bedrock <br />completed the repair of the Soffit in September. See <br />Attachment 8, p. 72. Volunteer Floyd Petty finished the <br />remaining work to complete painting of the soffit. A <br />decision was made to hold off on the repair of the front <br />stairs until spring, when the conditions will be better for <br />concrete to dry. Brads Catch Basin Repair, LLC has <br />committed to donating the materials and labor to complete <br />these repairs. 4.Advance Improvements on <br />the Schoolhouse Grounds <br />4 of 4 Measures Complete <br />4a – Trash and debris removed <br />from the site. <br />Complete. On May 20, 2023, HSHC hosted an volunteer <br />event focused on cleaning up the schoolhouse grounds and <br />gathering input on what the community would like to see <br />included in the trail stop. Three trailers of brush were <br />brought to the compost center, and another trailer of trash <br />was loaded and taken to the dump. <br />4b – Trail cameras installed as <br />added security measure. <br />Complete. Two cellular enabled trail cameras were <br />installed at the schoolhouse site. The cameras provide a <br />full view of both sides and rear of the building. The cameras <br />are programmed to send notifications and take images <br />when motion is detected. Motion-sensored lights mounted <br />on the building provide greater visibility for better images. <br />Signs have been posted to indicate the property is under <br />surveillance. <br />4c – Report produced <br />summarizing community input on <br />trail stop amenities. <br />Complete.
