Council Meeting Minutes for April 17, 2023 <br />Page 3 of 6 <br />Employees assist with mowing, garbage/litter removal, park maintenance, boulevard maintenance <br />and general public works maintenance. Adoption of the Consent Agenda approved the hiring of <br />seasonal employees as follows: Martin Jorgenson (return), Madison Siebenaler (return), Sam <br />Nelson (return), Alex Lohmann (new), Adler Siebenaler (new), and William Heise (new). <br />Approve Six-Month Extension for Administrative Intern Joe Hinzman <br />At its October 17, 2022, Council meeting, Council approved the hiring of Joe Hinzmen as the <br />new Administrative Intern with a start date of October 24, 2022. Intern positions were typically <br />for six-months, and staff requested to extend his position for another six months. Adoption of <br />the Consent Agenda approved a six-month extension for Administrative Intern Joe Hinzman <br />until October 24, 2023, at $19.25 per hour. <br />Approve Donation for Bayport American Legion to the Hugo Fire Department <br />The Bayport American Legion had requested to donate $5,000 to the Hugo Fire Department <br />from pull-tab proceeds for equipment and training. All donations to the Fire Department needed <br />to be approved by the Council. Adoption of the Consent Agenda approved the donation of <br />$5,000 to the Hugo Fire Department. <br />Approve Temporary Liquor License for the Chain of Lakes Rotary for Fundraiser Event <br />on May 6, 2023 <br />The Chain of Lakes Rotary had applied for a temporary on-sale liquor license to serve beer at <br />their fundraising event on Saturday, May 6, 2023, to be held at the Pete Pedersen Pavilion. The <br />applicant had paid the required fee and provided a certificate of insurance. Adoption of the <br />Consent Agenda approved the temporary liquor on-sale liquor license for the Chain of Lakes <br />Rotary. <br />Approve Special Event Permit for the Blacksmith Lounge for 2023 Events <br />The Blacksmith Lounge, 17205 Forest Boulevard North, had applied for a Special Event Permit <br />for their 2023 events to be held between Memorial Day and end of September. Events included <br />four auctions, seven car shows, one motorcycle swap meet, and one fundraising event. A SEP <br />approved by Council was required because there would be alcohol served outside and there may <br />be up to 200 people in attendance. Adoption of the Consent Agenda approved the Special Event <br />Permit for the Blacksmith Lounge. <br />Approve Preparation of Plans and Specifications for Lift Station No. 12 <br />Lift Station No. 12 would be in the northwest portion of the proposed Oneka Prairie <br />Development. Since the Oneka Prairie project did not have a recorded final plat, the City asked <br />for and received a permanent drainage and utility easement for the lift station area to ensure that <br />if the City goes through the design process it could construct the lift station at this location even
