2 <br /> <br /> <br /> Food and Alcohol – The Hugo Lions Club has applied for a temporary liquor license <br />for the sale of beer and spritzers. Wristband will be used to identify those 21+ years <br />of age. Beer sales will be in the same location as the bag tournament. There are no <br />plans to fence off the area for alcohol consumption, but there will be signs around the <br />area stating “no alcohol permitted beyond this point”. Bratwursts and hot dogs are <br />being donated by Grundhofers Old Fashioned Meats. There will be 1-2 grills for <br />cooking. Chips, drinks, and cookies will also be available for purchase. Culver’s is <br />donating custard to be sold onsite from 12-3 p.m. <br /> Traffic and Parking – Staff believes there is adequate parking in the parking lot and <br />along the streets around the park. <br /> Request for City Services – The applicant is requesting to use the City’s electronic <br />sign for advertising for the event and will coordinate with the Public Works Director <br />for placement. The applicant is also requesting to use the Pavilion and tables for the <br />silent auction items. Hugo Fire Department personnel and truck will be there to <br />collect food donations for the food shelf while conducting community engagement <br />with a fire prevention message. <br /> Other Permits Necessary – A food permit from Washington County is necessary for <br />the grilled food. <br /> Music/Amplified Sound – Amplified music will be played through a speaker system <br />and there may be a DJ. <br /> Tents or Structures – There will be small tents in the cooking area and in the <br />children’s activity area. In case of inclement weather, the Hugo Fire Department will <br />lend the applicant the use of their large tent. <br /> Signs, Banners, Balloons – There will be sponsorship banners and signs for the <br />silent auction and children’s activities. There may be a balloon arch for the children’s <br />area. <br /> <br />3. REQUIREMENTS: <br /> <br />The applicant has provided the City the completed permit. In accordance with this <br />permit, the applicant shall conduct the event as described above in addition to the <br />following: <br /> <br />Prior to the Event <br />1. The applicant will request Council co-sponsor the event by waiving the special event <br />permit fee and allowing use of the Lions Volunteer Park and Pede Pedersen Pavilion. <br />2. The applicant will obtain the temporary liquor license. <br />3. The applicant will obtain a Special Event Food Stand Permit from Washington <br />County. <br />4. The applicant will ensure all tents are securely staked. <br /> <br /> <br />
