Page 5 <br /> <br />Residential Uses <br /> <br />As updating the Multi-Family Design Guidelines was part of this overall effort, staff was <br />intentional when reviewing existing residential uses and the distinction between them in <br />Hugo. The following graphic shows the different residential uses and how they would be <br />classified in the City Code. <br /> <br /> <br />Definitions have been updated to provide clarity and also emphasize items of importance <br />for the City of Hugo when promoting certain housing types across the City. These are <br />summarized in the table below: <br /> <br />CURRENT PROPOSED PROPOSED DEFINITION <br />Single Family detached <br />residential dwellings <br />Dwelling, Single-family detached <br />residential <br />means a building designed for and <br />occupied exclusively by one (1) <br />family. <br />Twin Homes (duplexes) Dwelling, Two-family means a building designed for <br />occupancy by two (2) families in <br />separate dwelling units. <br />Apartments, <br />Apartments/Condominiums <br />Dwelling, Apartment means a building designed with three <br />(3) or more dwelling units exclusively <br />for occupancy by three (3) or more <br />families living independently of each <br />other, but sharing hallways and main <br />entrances and exits <br />Multifamily Residential, not to <br />exceed 12 units <br />Combined above <br /> <br />Accessory apartment Dwelling Unit, Accessory apartment (NO CHANGE) <br />Accessory Dwelling Unit Dwelling unit, Accessory (NO CHANGE) <br />Townhouses (Single-family <br />attached) <br />Dwelling, Townhouses means a single structure consisting <br />of at least three attached dwelling <br />units, each unit having its own direct <br />exterior entrance at or near the <br />ground level with no sharing of a <br />common hallway for entry. <br />Farmhand living quarters (NO CHANGE) (NO CHANGE)
