B. Mechanical Controls <br />● Carbon-filtered exhaust systems are sized beyond minimum HVAC exchange requirements to <br />provide redundancy. <br />● Exhaust air is routed through sealed ductwork and discharged vertically and away from adjacent <br />properties to prevent odor accumulation at ground level. <br />C. HVAC Zoning and Filtration <br />● Cultivation, drying, and manufacturing areas operate under separate HVAC zones, preventing <br />cross-contamination or odor migration into retail or office areas. <br />D. Operational Odor Control Protocols <br />● Facility doors remain closed during active cultivation, harvesting, drying, and processing <br />operations except when personnel or materials are being transferred. <br />● Odor mitigation standard operating procedures (SOPs) are incorporated into employee training <br />for all cultivation and manufacturing staff. <br />● Any detected odor issues are addressed immediately through equipment adjustment, filter <br />replacement, or operational changes. <br /> <br />Waste Management Plan <br />A. Waste Streams by Operation <br />Cultivation and Manufacturing Waste includes: <br />● Plant material (flowers, leaves, stems, root balls) <br />● Unusable biomass and processing byproducts <br />All waste is classified and managed in accordance with Minnesota Administrative Rule 9810.1200, <br />Subparts 2–5. <br />B. Cannabis Waste Processing <br />● Nonhazardous cannabis waste is rendered unusable and unrecognizable prior to leaving the <br />facility by mixing with non-cannabis material such as plant waste, paper, or soil, consistent with <br />Minnesota OCM definitions. <br />● Hazardous waste (e.g., solvents or chemicals) is rendered non-retrievable and managed in <br />compliance with applicable hazardous waste regulations. <br />● Waste materials not classified as cannabis waste (such as soil or stalks without visible trichomes) <br />are disposed of under standard waste protocols. <br />
