Low-density residential district (R-2). <br />(a) Purpose. The low-density residential district (R-2) is to provide for new single-family homes and provide for <br />the maintenance and preservation of existing single-family detached housing served by public utilities at a <br />density of approximately four units per one-acre. Single-family residential housing at a density of two to <br />three units per acre are permitted. A full range of public utilities and facilities shall be available to the R-2 <br />areas. <br />(b) Permitted uses. The following are permitted in the R-2 district: <br />(1) Dwelling, single-family detached (refer to section 90-217). <br />(2) Essential public services (refer to section 90-222). <br />(3) Public recreational fields, structures, and buildings. <br />(4) Residential facility, small (refer to section 90-256). <br />(c) Accessory uses. The following are permitted accessory uses in the R-2 district: <br />(1) Accessory buildings (refer to section 90-203). <br />(2) Accessory solar energy systems (refer to section 90-261). <br />(3) Daycare, family (refer to section 90-212). <br />(4) Dwelling unit, accessory apartments (refer to section 90-221). <br />(5) Fences (refer to section 90-227). <br />(6) Garages, private (refer to section 90-229). <br />(7) Home occupations (refer to section 90-230). <br />(8) Lighting, outdoor (refer to section 90-238). <br />(9) Parking and loading areas (refer to section 90-252). <br />(10) Signs (refer to section 90-260). <br />(d) Conditional uses. The following are conditional uses allowed in the R-2 district. Additionally, besides the <br />general CUP standards and criteria found in Section 90-37, each request for a conditional use permit shall be <br />evaluated, based upon the standards and criteria in Article VI, Division 1. <br />(1) Antennas (refer to article VI, division 2, of this chapter). <br />(2) Places of assembly, including public, educational, private clubs, or religious facilities (refer to section <br />90-253).
