Section 5. Tyne and Placement of Numbers. <br />A. Each principal building shall bear the number assigned to the frontage on which the <br />front entrance is located. <br />B. Numerals indicating the assigned numbers for each principal building shall be <br />reflectorized and of a color clearly contrasting to the background to which they are mounted. <br />Numerals shall be a minimum of four (4) inches in height and shall be mounted on the building at <br />least five (5) feet above the threshold and within two (2) feet of the main entry. For those buildings <br />not having a main entry facing the street, the numerals shall be placed on the wall facing the street, <br />near the corner of the structure nearest the driveway leading to the structure from the street. For <br />multiple housing areas, the building official may impose additional requirements relating to sizes, <br />location and grouping of numbers as determined to be necessary to meet public safety needs. When <br />the main entry is obstructed from view (example trees) the building official shall approve <br />placement of the numbers in such a manner that they may be observed from the street. <br />C. House numbers shall be included in the final inspection prior to occupancy of new <br />structures performed by the building official. <br />D. When a structure contains more than one living unit (condominium) or one business <br />(mall) as examples, and a number for each is not practical or possible by the City's numbering <br />guidelines, letters or suite numbers may be combined with an address number for the structure. <br />Section 6. S .vee rahility. If any portion of this Ordinance is for any reason held invalid or <br />unconstitutional, such portion shall be deemed a separate, distinct, and independent provision, and <br />such holding shall not affect the validity of the remaining portions thereof. <br />Section 7.
