Hugo City Council Meeting Minutes for February 2,2015 Page 5of11 Approve Replacement of Building Department Pickup Truck 111-05 Included in the City's 2015 Budget is funding for replacement of Building Department pickup truck 111-05. A similar truck priced at$29,503.13 (including tax and license)can be purchased at Midway Ford through the Cooperative Purchasing Venture with the State of Minnesota. Adoption of the Consent Agenda approved the purchase of a Y2 ton truck from Midway Ford for$29,503.13. Approve Replacement of Public Works Dump Truck 110-05 included in the City's 2015 Budget is funding for replacement of the Public Works Department 2005 Ford F550. Staff would like to replace this vehicle with a 2015 Ford F550 cab and chassis from Midway Ford and equip it with a dump body from Aspen Equipment through the Cooperative Purchasing Venture with the State of Minnesota at a price of$54,293.65 after trade in. Staff will first attempt to sell the vehicle through the sealed bid process to see if it would be profitable compared to the trade in value of$12,000. Adoption of the Consent Agenda approved the purchase of a 2015 Ford F550 truck from Midway Ford and dump body from Aspen Equipment for$54,293.65. Approve Advertisement of Bids for the 2015 Dust Control Proiect The City of Hugo currently applies dust control to approximately 23 miles of gravel roads located within its municipal boundaries. Following City Council approval, staff will advertise and solicit bids through our City newspaper and will hold a bid opening on March 31,2015 at 2:00 p.m. This will be followed by the Council considering bids in April. The dust control/stabilization would be applied in two separate applications, once in mid-May and again in early to mid-August. Adoption of the Consent Agenda approved the advertisement for bids for the City's 2015 gravel road dust control project. Approve Advertisement of Bids for the 2015 Seal Coating Proiect Each year, the City of Hugo seal coats a portion of its bituminous roads. Staff seeks authorization from the City Council to advertise and solicit bids through our City newspaper and will hold the bid opening on March 31, 2015 at 1:30 p.m. Work would take place during the months of July and August. Adoption of the Consent Agenda approved the advertisement of bid for the 2015 seal coating project Approve Advertisement for Public Works Seasonal Employees For the past several years,the City has hired five seasonal Public Works positions to help maintain the City's park system and building grounds as well as assist in road patching crews and other work as needed. These positions were approved in the 2015 General Fund Budget. Adoption of the Consent Agenda approved the advertisement for Public Works Seasonal employees.
