City Council meeting of May 6, 1991
Page 4
McAllister made motion, Miron seconded, to adopt ORDINANCE 1991-269, AN
ORDINANCE AMENDING CHAPTER 320 OF THE HUGO ZONING ORDINANCE ENTITLED
"ZONING" BY AMENDING THE ZONING DISTRICT CLASSIFICATION OF THE DESCRIBED
REAL PROPERTY.
VOTING AYE: Brunotte, JesinsF::i, McAllister, Miron, Stolt man
Motion Carried.
REZONING REQUEST (B. BRAMSTEDT_)_
Mr'. Robert Bramstedt and Mr. Tom Connolly have made application to the
City of Hugo for the rezoning of a 7.3 acre tract of land from Retail
Business (RB) to Industrial (I). The property in question is located at
17385 Forest Blvd., Hugo, MN., and is generally located east of Highway 61
and south of 175th Street. The area in question is currently zoned RB,
with other businesses of a retail nature in this area. 'rhe RB zone runs
from 175th south to 170th Street, on the east side of Hiqhway 61. The
Huqo Planning Commission reviewed this matter at their regular meeting of
April 24, 1991, at which time said Commission unanimously recommended
approval of the rezoning request. Mr. Bob Bramstedt was present at the
meeting, and stated that Minnesota Custom Processing has expressed an
interest in leasing the building. Their mill grindinq business would
require a change in the zoning district. City Administrator noted that
any industrial business relocating to the building would need to make
application for site plan approval.
Miron made motion, Brunotte seconded, to adopt ORDINANCE 1991-2:70, AN
ORDINANCE AMENDING CHAPTER 320 OF THE HUGO CITY CODE ENTITLED "ZONING" BY
AMENDING THE ZONING DISTRICT CLASSIFICATION OF THE DESCRIBED REAL
PROPERTY.
VOTING AYE: Brunotte, Jesinski, McAllister, Miron, Stoltzman
Motion Carried.
REZONING REQUEST (MCCULLOUGH/HUSNIK)
Lauren and Mavis McCullough have made application to the City of Hugo to
rezone an 8.33 acre tract of land from Conservancy (C) to RR1. The
purpose of this request is to allow for a subdivision of property for
residential purposes. The property in question is located south and east
of Goodview Avenue at the City's most southerly corporate limits. The
entire tract in question is subject to the City's shoreland requlations.
The only similar request of this nature that the Planninq Commission has
entertained, in the last several years, is the request of k::eystone
Builders to rezone the Irene Arcand property to RR1. That request was
denied by the Planning Commission and City Council citing Section 2B, page.
.32 of the Comprehensive Plan, as the primary reason for denial of the
rezoning. Notices of this rezoning request were forwarded to Grant
Township, as per City policy. The areas adjacent to the site are zoned
conservancy and agricultural. The Hugo Planninq Commission considered
this matter at their meeting of April -24, 1991, and recommended denial of
the rezoning request based on the following:
