Accept the bid as submitted in the amount of $57,246'30. <br />2' Reject the bid and readvertise with an anticipated construction period <br />in the spring of 1991. <br />3. Delete various aspects of the bid and do the work necessary to <br />complete the ballfields yet this fall. _ <br />The City staff has reviewed the bid proposal, and suggest the following <br />reductions if the City Council chooses Option #3, as noted above: <br />1. Delete #3 - reinstall bleachers. <br />2' Delete #6 - remove existing fence. <br />3. Delete #7 - Class 5 gravel for parking lot. <br />4. Delete #13 - tree transplant. <br />5. Delete #4 - tree planting. <br />This will reduce the bid amount to $40,346'30. It was noted that the bid <br />amount does not include the cost of engineering on this project. <br />Councilman McAllister felt that the cost of $40,000 was still too high, <br />and the project should be rebid in the spring of 1991. <br />Atkinson made motion, Vail seconded, to accept the bid from Forest Lake <br />Contracting, deleting Items 3, 4, 6, 7, and 13, reducing the approved bid <br />amount to $40,346.30. <br />VOTING AYE: Jesinski, Olson, Vail, Atkinson <br />VOTING NAY: McAllister <br />Motion Carried. <br />AUTHORIZE SEWER JET BID <br />As per Council direction, the City staff has secured additional <br />information on the sewer jet being sold by the City of White Bear Lake. <br />The City of WBL will be accepting bids on this project until October <br />25th. Utility Supervisor, Roger Bacon, has indicated that the vehicle is <br />inexcellent condition, and it may be a smart idea for the City to <br />purchase this vehicle for sewer line maintenance. If the City Council <br />wishes to proceed with this purchase, the City staff suggests that the <br />Council establish a maximum dollar amount, and the staff prepare a sealed <br />bid for submittal' <br />McAllister made motion, Jesinski seconded, that the City Council <br />authorizes the staff to prepare a sealed bid for the purchase of a sewer <br />jet being sold by the City of White Bear Lake, in an amount not to exceed <br />$6,000. <br />All aye. Motion Carried. <br />AUTHORIZE QUOTES (125TH STREF.'T CUL-DE-SAC <br />As a condition of approval of Nicholson's subdivision (125th Street, east <br />of Fiona), Howard Nicholson was required to install a cul-de-sac at his <br />expense. The City received a financial deposit to assure that this was <br />done within a six-month period. Effective in mid-October, the time period <br />
