City Council meeting of September 6,1989 <br />Page b <br />WATCHMAN'S QUARTERS, AND TO ESTABLISH REQUIREMENTS FOR MOLDILE HOMEiMANU-- <br />EACTURED HOMES. <br />VOTING AYE: McAllister, Jesinsk:i, Olson, Vail, Atkinson <br />VOTING NAY: NONE <br />Motion Carried. <br />RESOLUTION REQUESTING CIF' SPEED ZONES <br />The City staff prepared a resolution for Council consideration, requesting <br />the State Commissioner of Transportation review and recommend speed limits <br />on certain roadways in the City of Hugo. <br />Vail made motion, Olson seconded, to adopt RESOLUTION 1989-16, A <br />RESOLUTION REQUESTING THE STATE COMMISSIONER OF TRANSPORATION TO REVIEW <br />AND RECOMMEND SPEED LIMITS ON CERTAIN ROADWAYS IN THE CITY OF HUGO. <br />VOTING; AYE: McAllister, Jesinsh:i, Olson, Vail, Atkinson <br />VOTING NAY: NONE <br />Motion Carried. <br />JOIE. STANEK REQUEST <br />The City received a letter from Mr. Lloyd Grooms, on behalf of Mr. Joe <br />Stanek:, requesting that the City assist them in providing physical access <br />to Mr. Stanek:'s property south of 130th Street in Section 2 of the City. <br />Mr. Grooms has indicated in his letter that fences have been constructed <br />in the dedicated right-of-way preventing access to Mr. Stanekos property. <br />City Administrator Huber discussed this request with the Mr. Charles_. <br />Johnson, City attorney;, and Mr. Johnson has indicated there would be no <br />problem with sending the appropriate parties a letter requesting that they <br />remove the fences from the right-of-way in question within a reasonable <br />amount of time. Mr. Grooms's letter indicates that he has tried to work: <br />with some of the property owners in this area to secure a private driveway <br />easement to ter. Stanek's as a tradeoff for vacating_ the right-of-way in <br />question. He has indicated that Mrs. Lefebrve has refused to cooperate in <br />any way that would allow Mr. Stanek: .access to his property. The City <br />staff has advised Mr. Grooms that they will probably not recommend _:ray <br />legal action regarding the removal of the fences in question unless th er <br />City is in receipt of a formal petition from Mr. Stanek to construct and <br />finance an approved roadway to the site in question. <br />Atkinson made motion, Jesinsk:i seconded, authorizing City staff to send a <br />letter to the appropriate parties requesting that they remove fences from <br />the dedicated right-of-way in question within a reasonable amount of time. <br />All. aye. Motion Carried. <br />
