1 2 February 3, 1986 <br />MOTION: Schwab made motion, Peltier seconded, to approve the Utility Claims for <br />February 3, 1986 as submitted. <br />All aye. Motion Carried. <br />5.0 PETITIONS, REQUESTS, COMMUNICATIONS & LICENSES <br />5.1 Dave Truax - Brown's Creek Watershed <br />Hugo resident, Truax, chairman of the organization, was present to outline funding <br />costs for the City of Hugo, and how these costs were determined. Hugo has approxi- <br />mately 2280 acres in the watershed at a cost of $707.61. There is also a $100.00 <br />charge for administrations expenses. McAllister recommended that Truax submit <br />a statement of costs from which the city will make payment. The city will also <br />need to identify all parcels included in the watershed so that all costs can be <br />allocated to them. McAllister Ahat Mr. Truax keep the city's alternate repre- <br />sentative informed in the event his attendance is necessary. <br />5.2 John Hasselbeck - LaMetti & Sons <br />Mr. Hasselbeck was present to discuss a letter he had received from the Building <br />Inspector regarding the removal of a mobile home located on the LaMetti property. <br />The 16 x 70 trailer is being used as a residence for the watchman of the property. <br />City code allows for 400 sq ft of watchman quarters in the Industrial zone. Mr. <br />Hasselbeck stated that they have about 22 million dollars worth of equipment sitting <br />out at all times, and have had problems in the past. He stated that it was definitely <br />to their benefit to have someone present at all times. Mayor McAllister explained <br />the codes as they exist and suggested Mr.Hasselbeck submit his request in writing <br />and refer the matter to the Planning Commission. LaMetti is also to make appli- <br />cation for Site Plan Approval for all additional buildings located on the property, <br />then apply for Building Permits. <br />5.3 Gambling License - Hockey Hall of Fame <br />The City has received notice that the above has made application for a gambling <br />operation at Carpenter's. After a lengtly discussion about gambling license re- <br />quests in the city, the Council's ultimate goal is to remain objection, but still <br />retain the right to consider each request on an individual basis. <br />MOTION: Potts made motion, Hauer seconded, that the City do nothing about the <br />application, and allow it to proceed on normal course of action with the <br />State of Minnesota. <br />All aye. Motion Carried. <br />Only recently the City denied the request of the City of Hope for gambling licenses <br />at Ricci's and the Blacksmith Lounge. <br />MOTION: McAllister made motion, Potts seconded, that this matter be brought to <br />the floor for further consideration. <br />VOTING FOR: Potts, Schwab, McAllister <br />VO`T'ING AGAINST: Hauer, Peltier <br />Motion Carried. <br />
