18 February 18, 1986 <br />Cadet Program <br />regulations will have to be set down by the FD. Another consideration could be <br />requirement for a physcial examination as part of particiaption. Mayor McAllister <br />suggested that when the Fire Chief is establishing the by-laws that he include <br />the review committee, Charles Johnson, and the city's contract officer present for <br />their input. <br />MOTION: Potts made motion, Hauer seconded, to approve the concept of the Cadet <br />Program with the following conditions: <br />1. The program shall not start until all insurance is in place. <br />2. A satisfactory physical examination must be obtained prior to ad- <br />mittance into the program. <br />3. The Fire Department and Fire Review Committee work up guidelines and <br />bring to the City Council for approval. <br />All aye. Motion Carried. <br />Ken Granger requested that he be relieved from his duties on the Fire Department <br />Review Committee because of tineconf licts with his business. He recommended <br />that the City keep a one-man committee, Leonard Charpentier, to assist the Fire <br />Chief and act as liaison to the Council. <br />MOTION: McAllister made motion Peltier seconded, that the City accept Ken Granger's <br />recommendation that Mr. Leonard Charpentier be appointed as Chairman <br />of the Fire Department Review Committee. Mr. Granger is granted a leave - <br />of -absence until the committee goes out of business June 1, 1986, and <br />that Mr. Granger continued to be paid. <br />All aye. Motion Carried. <br />It was the concensus of the Council that the Fire Chief be authorized to take a <br />tanker to a mutual aid training lesson in Bayport. <br />5.2 LaMetti & Sons - Cancelled <br />5.4. Vern Peloquin - Subdivision (Cancelled) <br />5.5 Cal Garley - Subdivision <br />Cal Garley, developer for the Howard Moe property, is proposing the subdivision <br />of approximately 2.3 acres for the construction of 3 new single family residences, <br />and one 4-plex. Mayor McAllister stated that because historically there are water <br />problems in that particular area, the City will be requiring a 20' easement for <br />drainage purposes - no easement, no subdivision. The Planning Commission held a <br />public hearing and recommended approval of the preliminary plat. <br />MO`ION: McAllister made motion, Potts seconded, that this application for subdi- <br />vision be tabled and placed on the agenda when Howard Kuusisto indicates <br />engineering has been completed. <br />All aye. Motion Carried. <br />
