14 February 2, 1983 <br /> The city received a quotation from Capitol Electronics for the purchase of a used <br /> Motorola radio for truck #5 in the amount of $750.00. <br /> MOTION: Peltier made motion, Vail seconded, authorizing the Fire Chief to pur- <br /> chase a used Motorola radio for truck #5 from Capitol Electronics, in <br /> the amount of $750.00. <br /> All aye. Motion Carried. <br /> The Fire Chief stated that he would like to attend the State Fire Convention in <br /> International Falls on June 16 - 19, 1983. The cost to the city would be $310.00. <br /> MOTION: Peltier made motion, Atkinson seconded, to deny the request of the Fire <br /> Chief to attend the State Fire Convention in June. <br /> VOTING FOR: McAllister, Peltier, Atkinson <br /> VOTING AGAINST: Vail <br /> Motion Carried. <br /> 5.4 Mike Perrault - Variance <br /> Mr. Perrault, 17803 Henna Avenue, would like to construct a double garage closer <br /> to the front yard setback than allowed by ordinance. As proposed, the addition <br /> would be approximately 27' from the right-of-way and code requires 40' . <br /> MOTION: Peltier made motion, Vail seconded, to grant a variance to Mire Per- <br /> rault for the construction of a double garage no closer than 58' from <br /> the center of the road. <br /> All aye. Motion Carried. <br /> 5.3 Silver Spur Saloon - Discussion of Nuisance <br /> The following were present to discuss this matter: David Weigel, Trish Anderson, <br /> Esther Weigel, and Ed Michel. It was determined that Ed Waugh is the fee owner <br /> of the property in question, and Mrs. Ester Weigel has been assigned the property <br /> subject to two prior Contract for Deeds (Nitti/Meline and Michel/Driggs) . Mrs. <br /> Weigel stated that just as soon as they are granted a demoliton permit, work will <br /> be started to clean up the debris from the fire. Twin City Testing performed a <br /> preliminary review of the -fire damaged perimeter black walls at the request of the <br /> Building Inspector. It was their deterndnation that fire damage to the black walls <br /> was only limited to a few localized area, but after debris from the floor and <br /> existing wall covering materials are removed, a more thorough review could be <br /> performed. <br /> NOTION: McAllister made motion, Atkinson seconded, that David Weigel be issued <br /> a demolition permit for 30 days, and that the Building Inspector reinspect <br /> the building after debris is cleaned up and make a written report to <br /> the City Council. Mr. Weigel will have Twin City Testing review the <br /> property and give us a written comment on it. <br /> All aye. Notion Carried. <br />
