29 April 4, 1983 <br /> 6.3 Water Superintendent <br /> Mr. Burkard was present to discuss his displeasure with the recent decision of the <br /> Council to have city employees punch a timeclock. He also requested permission <br /> to attend water operator school on April 26 - 28, 1983. <br /> MOTION: McAllister made motion, Peltier seconded, authorizing the Water Superintendent <br /> to attend the Metro Water Operator School on April 26-28, 1983. <br /> All aye. Motion Carried. <br /> Councilman Vail will check on the replacement of walkway planks on Highway 61 <br /> and 145th Street. <br /> UTILITY DEPARTMENT PAY SCALE <br /> The water and sewer superintendents' pay will be changed from a monthly fee to an <br /> hourly basis, effective May 1, 1983. <br /> MOTION: McAllister made motion that effective May 1 , 1983, the water and sewer <br /> superintendent will be compensated $6.75/hour, and a daily log to be kept <br /> on the back of the time card as to the nature of the work performed. <br /> Motion failed for lack of a second. <br /> MOTION: Vail made motion that the water and sewer superintendent's salary be set <br /> at $8.50/hour. <br /> Motion failed for lack of a second. <br /> MOTION: McAllister made motion, Atkinson seconded, that effective May 1 , 1983, <br /> the water and sewer superintendent be paid an hourly rate of $6.50/hour, <br /> and a daily log be kept as to the nature of the work performed. <br /> VOTING FOR: McAllister, Atkinson <br /> VOTING AGAINST: Peltier, Schwab, Vail <br /> Motion Failed. <br /> MOTION: Schwab made motion, McAllister seconded, that effective May 1, 1983, the <br /> water and sewer superintendent be paid an hourly rate of $7.50/hour, and <br /> a daily entry shall be maintained as to the nature of the work performed. <br /> VOTING FOR: McAllister, Atkinson, Schwab <br /> VOTING AGAINST: Peltier, Vail <br /> Motion Carried. <br /> 6.4 Building Inspector <br /> Mr. Crever submitted his monthly report. Crever asked about the buildding Permits <br /> for Ester Weigel, and was informed that the Letter of Credit submitted does not <br /> meet with the approval of the City Attorney. We will keep him informed of its <br /> status. There was further discussion regarding the necessary permits for Safeway <br /> House Movers. Mrs. Sempel was given clarification of the requirements for Building <br /> Permits to make sure she understood the procedures. Crever will meet with the Sem- <br /> pels at the site to finalize a number of matters. Mrs. Seiel reconsidered her <br /> plans for watchman quarters and decided to keep her temporary mobile home permit in <br /> tact for the present. <br />
