APRIL 21 1973 : ? <br /> Don Lease reported for the Sewer Committee that the preliminary work is done on the <br /> Comprehensive Sewer Plan in conjunction with the Comprehensive Village Plan. Lease <br /> said the Metro Council stated that this plan was the first one they've seen where <br /> the Sewer Plan was in agreement with the Comprehensive Plan. <br /> Along with his monthly report, Police Chief Gunderson recommended a Tom Davison, <br /> a resident of Hugo, as a part time police officer. Mr. Davision has gone through <br /> the BCA School and is a certified police officer by the State. Motion made by Lease, <br /> seconded by LaValle to appoint Thomas Andrew Davison as a part time police officer <br /> for the Village, Motion carried. <br /> Fire Chief Ken Granger stated that he had talked with Washington County Commissioner <br /> Idor Pederson concerning the status of George King's property. Granger had typed <br /> a letter to the Commissioners regarding the removal of buildings on the property, and <br /> it was signed by himself and Village Health Officers. Motion made by LaValle and <br /> seconded, to accept report of Fire Chief and Health Officers regarding George King's <br /> property, and send a copy to the County Commissioners. Motion carried. <br /> Granger stated that he'd like two firemen to attend a five day fire school session. <br /> Motion made and seconded to send two firemen, Tom Raiter, and Richard Seifert, <br /> (alternate being Robert Ricci), to Fire School May 8 through May 12, at a registration <br /> fee of $20.00 per man, $2.50 per hour, and 9¢ per mile. Motion carried. Ken said <br /> the final points are being worked out on the tanker specs, and Charlie Johnson and <br /> Howard Kuusisto are to review them shortly. <br /> Road Superintendent Jerry Dube reported that roads are drying up in most places, and <br /> culverts are all clear and draining. Both dump tracks are in good repair and are <br /> available to go to work as soon as the weight restrictions go off. <br /> Building Inspector Crever reported that he had not yet ,gotten a building permit <br /> application back from Ed Maas. He stated that the Hilarious Company is doing so well, <br /> they have applied to add on to their building. <br /> Tom stated that he was going to be gone from April 14th through 27th and the County <br /> would take over his inspection duties during that time. <br /> Mr. Len Hayes appeared before Council on behalf of his son, who is a builder. A <br /> Mr. Kelly has requested Hayes' son build him a 40 x 100 pole barn on 2* acres, <br /> in order for Mr. Kelly to store antique cars. Under Oneka Ordinance # 1 this would <br /> come under the non-conforming use. Mr. Kelly is to get an application for Special <br /> Use Permit from the Clerk's office. <br /> It was stated that Norm Horton is to appear at the Planning Commission meeting of <br /> April 17th, Attorney Johnson said Horton Junior was to have contacted Chief Gunderson, <br /> but never showed-up. It was Johnson's opinion that if investigation shows two opera- <br /> tions going on the same location, the second operator should be served a complaint. <br /> Motion made and seconded that Clerk's office contact Bill Schwab regaring his sending <br /> a recommendation on the Horton affair to the Planning Commission for their meeting <br /> on April 17th. Previous motion ammended to have Clerk's office also send a letter to <br /> the Planning Commission stating Council would like the Commissions recommendation <br /> on the matter by the May 7th Council meeting. Motion carried. <br /> Regarding the Harrison Construction Company $1000.00 check put up as a bond for a <br /> house built on Lot 2, Block 1 of Oakshore Park, the Clerk has letters from the Building <br /> Inspector and Engineer okaying release of said check if alright with Council. Motion <br /> made and seconded to return the $1000.00 check to Harrison Construction Company which <br /> was put up as a bond. Motion carried. <br /> Recess was called at 10:10 PM. Meeting called back to order at 10:35 P.M. <br />
