Fayor Lease <br /> said he would also like to see gravel purchased for the city roads, as <br /> the roads were what the people really used. T?artin said he was in favor <br /> of graveling the roads. T"otion rude by LaValle, seconded by 11artin that <br /> of the Revenue Sharing from July 1 , 1974 to June 30, 1975s, `4500.00 be <br /> put as a Capitol Expense in Public Safety, and ' 6991 .00 be put in Operation <br /> and L"aintenance Expense in Public Transportation. T,lotion carried. <br /> Ehlers Associates Contract came up next for review. Clerk Burkard said <br /> a motion had been made in 1972 that Ehlers be appointed a Fiscal Agent <br /> for the Village but no formal contract had been signed. "long with their <br /> contract to be signed, they also submitted a bill. It was noted that this <br /> bill would be paid out of the Sewer Fund as part of the "Contingency" . <br /> Attorney Johnson stated that IND wished to see Attorney and Engineering <br /> Contracts also. Tlotion made by T?artin, seconded by Leroux to table the <br /> Ehlers Contract until the June 3rd meeting. T,.otion carried. <br /> ClerlBurkard stated the old fire truck insurance should be cancelled if <br /> it was not to be used any longer, and he wanted council action on the <br /> matter. LaValle mentioned that according to Firechief Granger, the old <br /> true): was unsafe on the roads. T"ayor Lease said they could sell it, if <br /> the city residents didn't have any ideas. <br /> Tlotion made by LaValle, seconded by Martin to purchase ;45,000.00 insurance <br /> on the new Fire Pumper "6, and that we cancel insurance on the 1938 Dodge <br /> Fire Truck. 'Fotion carried. <br /> i <br /> Regarding the need for "Slow Children" signs on 150th and Foxhill, Acting <br /> Police Chief Barth submitted a letter to the Council which was read aloud <br /> by Tlayor Lease. Barth said numerous children played in the roadway in that <br /> area, and there was also a large amount of school traffic in the area, <br /> and it was his opinion that signs were needed. Motion made by ZaValle, second- <br /> ed by Martin that Clerk be authorized to purchase two "Slow Children" signs <br /> for 147th and Foxhill and 150th and Highway 61 and the County be notified <br /> to install same. 1i.otion carried. <br /> TTr. Barth also introduced three men to the Council, James E. Eder, John <br /> Jackson, and Jerome T. Bergeron, who he recommended for part time <br /> positions in the Police Department. One of the men, James Eder, had been <br /> in BCI; School and was a police officer in Stillwater for a tire. These <br /> three men were chosen by the Police Department out of ten to appear be- <br /> for the Council. The schedulinl- and pay situation had been explained to <br /> the men by T1r. Barth. <br /> T.otion made by LaValle and seconded that James B. Eder, John 1.1. Jackson, <br /> and Jerome Bergeron be appointed part time police officers for the city <br /> of Hugo. Motion carried. <br /> T::r. Barth also said he would. 11.1ie tc., attend a, one week school in Advanced <br /> Traffic June 3rd to 7th, which had no registration fee.
