Attorney Johnson hoped <br /> to have further information by the January 20 meeting. <br /> Letters had been received from the Forest Lake Times and the White Bear <br /> Press asking to be designated official newspapers for Hugo. Mayor Lease <br /> pointed out that both newspapers are fine newspapers and have been pleased <br /> with each newspaper and suggested a possible alternate each year. <br /> Smith made motion, seconded by LaValle to designate the Forest Lake Times <br /> as official legal newspaper for Hugo. Motion Carried. <br /> Motion made by Lease and seconded, that the First State Bank of Hugo, the <br /> First State Bank of Forest Lake and the First National Bank of Stillwater <br /> IIIbe designated as the official depositories for the City of Hugo, Motion <br /> Carried. <br /> Mayor Lease appointed Marvin LaValle to be acting mayor for the year 1975 <br /> which he accepted. <br /> Lease made motion to refund the deposit for Pipe Line Company of $2,500.00. <br /> Smith seconded. Motion Carried. <br /> Lease made motion that the Police Chief salary be increased from $800.00 <br /> per month to $1 ,000.00 per month. Smith seconded. Motion Carried. <br /> Lease made motion that the Clerks salary be increased from $300.00 a month <br /> to $350.00 per month. Smith seconded. Motion Carried. <br /> Clerk Burkard announced that he would be serving his final year as Clerk <br /> in 1975. <br /> Leroux made motion to increase the Meter Reader salary from $2.50 per hour <br /> to $3.50 per hour.
