MAY 5, 1975 f 1
VOTING FOR: Lease, LaValle, and ScBiletty.
MOTION CARRIED
6.4 BUILDING INSPECTOR
Inspector stated a year ago he requested the minimum valuation for
a building permit to be raised from the $250.00 to $500.00 or even
$750.00 as with the low fee of $250.00 is usually for repairs and
that residents should not have to buy a building permit for main-
tenance on their house. It was suggested that the Building Inspector
attend the Ordinance Committee meeting for amending the valuation fee.
6.5 FIRE CHIEF
Fire Chief stated that the State Fire School is scheduled for May
19-22 at the Radisson Hotel, Minneapolis. Registration fee is $30.00
plus mileage and per diem of $28.00 per day. Chief stated the pumper
operation would be a great asset to the fire department and Ron
Istvanovich would like to attend the school.
MOTION: Lease made motion, Schletty seconded, to authorize the
registration of Ron Istvanovich to attend the State
Fire School May 19-22 for a fee of $30.00 plus mileage
and per diem of $28.00 per day.
VOTING FOR: Lease, LaValle, and Schletty.
MOTION CARRIED
Chief reported that the bottom panel of the fire garage door has
rotted out and has left a dangerous situation in that the door
will not stay up all the time and could fall on someone. They have
temporarily repaired the panel by t also stated there is another
panel that has rotted out and this panel too should be repaired or
replaced, in another door.
Lease asked Clerks office to get bids or repair or replacement of
the panels.
Chief stated that the radio is installed and the monitors should
be here in a week and the antenna is up. All free labor and he
wanted to thank all those that were involved.
6.6 POLICE CHIEF
Letter was submitted requesting approval for a bid from Custom
Electronic Systems Co. , for a Aerotron 60TT8 two channel Base
Station/Mobile Radio. Discussion followed as to why the Police
and Fire Departments could not use the same base station. It was
noted that the two departments are on different frequencies and to
combine the two, would be too costly. The cheapest way would be to
buy a new base.
Council felt there was a need for a police base station but it was
not in the budget and shoud be put in 1976 budget unless the depart-
ment could re-budget for the station.
• Police Department checked on the Tauer situation. Chief to issue a
citation and proceed again.
