JUNE 169 1975 115 <br /> 5.2 POLICE CHIEF <br /> Chief introduced Michael A. Jensen, Stewart Ave. , White Bear <br /> Lake to the Council recommending that he be hired by the City <br /> of Hugo as a part time patroleman. Stated he met all the qualifi- <br /> cations that he needed to replace a former part time patrolemen <br /> who had left the department, leaving the department short of help <br /> Chief stated the part time men would like some weekends off which, <br /> being short of men, he was unable to do. LaValle stated several <br /> events are coming up, and the department should be filled. <br /> MOTION: Leroux made motion, Schletty seconded, to hire Michael <br /> A. Jensen, Stewart Ave. , White Bear Lake as a part time <br /> patrolemen for the Police Department of the City of Hugo. <br /> VOTING FOR: LaValle, Leroux, and Schletty. <br /> MOTION CARRIED <br /> 5.3 WASHINGTON COUNTY ROAD MAINTENANCE CONTRACT <br /> The Hugo roads are in such a shape that Schletty questioned weather <br /> the City of Hugo wanted to renew the Washington Road Maintenance <br /> Contract. LaValle pointed out that with the rainy weather, the road <br /> could hardly be kept up to standards. He also stated, that the <br /> City of Hugo is not in a position to maintain the roads them- <br /> selves and that the contract should have good review by Council <br /> members. Copies of the contract are to be sent to the Council <br /> Members, by the Clerks office. <br /> MOTION: Schletty made motion, Leroux seconded to table the <br /> Washington County Road Maintenance Contract to the <br /> first meeting in July, July 7th, 1975. <br /> VOTING FOR: LaValle, Leroux and Schletty <br /> MOTION CARRIED <br /> 5.5 WHITE BEAR ROD & GUN CLUB <br /> The Planning Commission felt that the terms of the Special <br /> Use Permit have been violated and the Council should deal <br /> with the following items: 1 , 29 9 & 11 . The remaining con- <br /> ditions of the Special Use Permit are in compliance. The <br /> items in question: <br /> 1 . Fencing - barbwire needs some additional work which will <br /> be done later in the summer. <br /> 2. Tree planting - trees not available at time of Planning <br /> report - Chief Barth stated tree planting had been started. <br /> 9. Driveway to be blacktopped - no activity on grounds so <br /> Council can't take any action on this item. <br /> 11 . Parking lot, one-half of the area, to be surfaced with <br /> crushed rock - still under construction. <br /> The bond, Item 19 has been posted with the City Clerk. <br /> Leroux suggested giving an extension of time on the above <br /> mentioned items. <br />
