are about 125 old meters that could be replaced- need no decision <br /> 1 4 now but should be considered. Also should consider increasing <br /> trench and meter inspection fees which are presently $3 trench <br /> fee and $2 meter fee. Feels meter reader should get more money- <br /> about 200 meters to read, takes about 20 hours. Needs to order <br /> twelve new 5/8 water meters now. Said flyer has been sent out <br /> informing those who are not already hooked up to sewer that they <br /> have until 4/1/76 to do so. <br /> MOTION: Lease made motion, seconded by LaValle to pay Robert <br /> Burkard, . water superintendent, a salary of $250 per <br /> month for all work exclusive of maintenance. Salary will <br /> include water testing, Billing of water and sewer, both <br /> regular and special water and sewer reports, and checking <br /> of pump house and meters. <br /> VOTING FOR: Lease, LaValle, Leroux, Schletty and Smith. <br /> MOTION CARRIED <br /> MOTION: LaValle made motion, seconded by Leroux, to increase <br /> the meter reader's salary from $3.50 to $4.50 per hour <br /> for 1976. <br /> VOTING FOR: Lease, LaValle, Leroux, Schletty and Smith. <br /> MOTION CARRIED <br /> MOTION: Smith made motion, seconded by Schletty to order twelve <br /> new Rockwell 5/8 Water Meters for household use. <br /> VOTING FOR: Lease, LaValle, Leroux, Schletty, and Smith. <br /> MOTION CARRIED <br /> Matter of hourly rate for water superintendent to be looked at <br /> further. <br /> 6.4 SEWER COMMITTEE <br /> LaValle reported Frank Hovald and Jim Wisner have complained <br /> about pipe in drainage easement across their property being about <br /> 30' shorter than they were told it would be-City Engineer instructed <br /> to look at it on February 3rd. <br /> Electric conduit is sheared off and wires exposed in Lift Station <br /> #1 , LaValle said. Engineer instructed to inspect too. Also re- <br /> ported Hoffman Brothers has not met all easement conditions. <br /> Engineer says the city will not pay til all matters are taken <br /> care of. He will cheek into matter. <br /> 6.5 BUILDING INSPECTOR <br /> No building permits this month, Crever reported. LaValle asked <br /> if George Miron problem was resolved-Crever said that the lot <br /> was sold prior to present zoning laws and Clerk has approved <br /> the lot. LaValle asked if a new state zoning law was adopted- <br /> Crever said no, a new book comes out every three years and is <br /> automatically adopted. New energy law went into effect February <br /> 1st. <br /> 6.6 POLICE CHIEF <br /> MOTION: Lease made motion, LaValle seconded, to accept the monthly <br /> police report. <br /> VOTING FOR: Lease, LaValle, Leroux, Schletty, and Smith. <br /> MOTION CARRIED <br /> Lease stated that Manuel Peloquin has refused to sign the complaint <br /> he filed against Richard Dalin-claims Lease told him not to- <br /> Lease says he didn't. Attorney to talk to police chief and to <br /> ask Manuel Peolquin again to sign and if not, the matter will <br /> be dropped. <br /> 6.7 FIRE CHIEF - No report <br /> 6.8 ATTORNEY <br /> Reported Horton's attorney called judge and asked for delay be- <br /> cause of prior committment-has been postponed to indefinite date- <br /> still wants to settle-Norm Sr. in Florida-Norm Jr. will try to <br /> resolve issue in his absence. <br />
