p 6.2 Planning Commission <br /> 4(7 Irene Leroux presented report on LaMotte from Minnesota Department <br /> of Health to City Attorney. <br /> 6.3 Water Superintendent <br /> Reported water line on 148th Street is completed. Traeger Addition, <br /> Plat 2, Lots 1 ,2, 3, 4, and 6 on Flay Street will be blacktopped- <br /> presently there are no curb cocks for water and wonders if the city <br /> shouldn't put them in prior to blacktopping to save money in the <br /> future - city to pay cost now and as lots are sold would be re- <br /> imbursed by new owners. Lease advised Water Superintendent and <br /> City Engineer to work up cost estimates. <br /> 6.4 Sewer Committee <br /> Harley Hoffman of Hoffman Brothers appeared to collect final <br /> payment on sewer project. Certain amount of work was still needed, <br /> but Peloquin is satisfied that conditions have now been met. <br /> Hoffman said LaValle was also satisfied. Water Superintendant <br /> is satisfied too. Final bill is $26,845.41 . Claim by Mary Ouimet <br /> has been filed for $900. Hoffman explained the claim was received <br /> 7/29/75 and filed with Crawford & Company, their insurance com- <br /> pany on 8/6/75. Insurance company to decide whether it is going <br /> to be paid, he said. Attorney asked for photocopies of insurance <br /> papers. Hoffman Brothers will pay city $420.50 for locating sewer <br /> stub on Peloquin property. City to reimburse Maurice Carlson. <br /> MOTION: Lease made motion, seconded by Smith, to approve the <br /> final payment to Hoffman Brothers, Sewer Contractors, for <br /> $26,845.41 . <br /> VOTING FOR: Lease, Leroux, Schletty and Smith. <br /> MOTION CARRIED <br /> 6.5 Building Inspector <br /> Studied Lions Club revised plans for proposed building. Asked <br /> Engineer if concrete culvert is OK fpr driveway - homeagner has <br /> two eight foot sections he wishes to join together - no objection <br /> from Engineer if joined in manner that there is no seepage between <br /> the sections. <br /> MOTION: Lease made motion, seconded by Smith to approve the plans <br /> for the proposed Lions Club building, as presented. <br /> VOTING FOR: Lease, Leroux, Schletty and Smith. <br /> MOTION CARRIED <br /> 6.6 Fire Chief <br /> Requested purchase of new drop tank as old one has leaks - presented <br /> cost figures. <br /> MOTION: Lease made motion, seconded by Leroux, to approve the <br /> pruchase of a new drop tank at a cost of $437.00 by fire <br /> department out of their budget. <br /> VOTING FOR: Lease, Leroux, Schletty and Smith <br /> MOTION CARRIED <br /> Council instructed clerk to put notice in legal newspaper regarding <br /> ban on open burning, or burning of any kind within the city limits <br /> of Hugo without a special permit. <br /> Fire Chief stated that local b?cy and girl scouts have requested <br /> permission to paint the fire hydrants. Water superintendent said <br /> they should send representative to the Council Meeting and sugg— <br /> estad that the city be responsible for the cleaning preparation. <br /> If they have any plans to paint them anything different than red <br /> and yellow, they should submit the plans. Olson requested permission <br /> to have locks on the firehall changed and forty new keys made for <br /> the firemen. Council OK'd lock change. <br />
