. ` ` . <br /> Subd . D. General Construction Standards. Wherever feasible, the City <br /> shall construct or improve its streets and roads to the <br /> standards listed below: <br /> ( 1 ) Pavement design shall be in accordance with the MNDOT <br /> Road Design Manual . Streets shall be designed in <br /> accordance with the cumulative design lane 18 KIP <br /> E.S.A.L. The minimum road section shall be in <br /> accordance with exhibits "A" through "F" of this <br /> ordinance, or as determined by the City Engineer. <br /> (2) Soil borings shall be taken along the proposed street <br /> centerline at intervals not exceeding 300 feet, and <br /> shall be a part of all street plans. <br /> (3) The proposed R-Value used for pavement design shall be <br /> shown on all street plans. <br /> (4) The subgrade shall be scarified to one foot depth and <br /> recompacted on all cut sections. <br /> ( 5) The required density below the upper three feet of <br /> subgrade shall be either 95% of the Standard Proctor <br /> Density (T-99) ASTM D-698 or 90% of the modified <br /> Proctor Density (T-180) . <br /> (6) The required density in the upper three feet of <br /> subgrade shall be either 100% of the Standard Proctor <br /> Density (T-99) ASTM D-698 or 95% of the modified <br /> Proctor Density (T-180) . <br /> (7) Test rolling per MNDOT 2111 is required on the <br /> subgrade using a loaded dump truck delivering nine ton <br /> axle load . <br /> (8) Street horizontal centerline alignment deflection <br /> angles greater than ten degrees shall be connected by <br /> a curve with a radius of not less than 250 feet. <br /> (9) The minimum centerline gradient shall not be less than <br /> one-half percent (0.5%) . <br /> ( 10) The maximum centerline gradient shall not exceed: <br /> a. Eight percent (8%) for minor and marginal access <br /> streets. <br /> b. Five percent ( 5%) for thoroughfares and collector <br /> streets. <br /> ( 11 ) Vertical curves shall be designed in accordance with <br /> the MNDOT Road Design Manual . Said specifications <br /> shall apply for stopping sight distances on crest <br /> curves and for headlight sight distances on sag <br /> curves. <br />
