' <br /> (4 ) Disposal of Septage shall be only at approved disposal <br /> sites or facilities' Dumping or spreading of Septage <br /> on the surface of the ground is prohibited except where <br /> surface disposal sites have been specifically approved <br /> and permitted . <br /> ( 5) The Zoning Administrator shall maintain appropriate <br /> records of Septage pumping and disposal activities and <br /> shall require such reporting by licensees as is <br /> reasonable and necessary to insure that adequate <br /> maintenance and disposal is being accomplished . <br /> (6) In any instance where it is determined that maintenance <br /> practices or procedures are inadequate or improper, the <br /> Zoning Administrator shall require the owner to comply <br /> with the provisions of this Ordinance within thirty <br /> (30) days of notice served upon the owner. <br /> 404.07' Aerobic Tanks. Aerobic tanks shall comply with the <br /> requirements set forth for Sewage Tanks in this Ordinance, and with <br /> the following : <br /> ( 1 ) The Tank , including each-individual unit or compartment <br /> shall be readily accessible for inspection and <br /> maintenance and shall be provided with secured covers. <br /> (2) The Raw Sewage Flow from the Building Sewer shall be <br /> intercepted by a trash trap prior to its entering the <br /> aeration compartment. The trash trap shall have a net <br /> holding capacity of not less than twenty (20) percent <br /> of the average daily Sewage flow. The invert level of <br /> the inlet to the trap shall be above the liquid level <br /> and shall discharge directly into the trap. The outlet <br /> from the trap to the aeration compartment shall have a <br /> deep baffle or shall be equipped with a tee or long <br /> ell . <br /> (3) The trash trap shall be_readily �_ccessible for <br /> inspection and effective cleaning and shall be so <br /> constructed as to prevent unauthorized access. <br /> (4) The aeration compartment shall have a minimum holding <br /> capacity of five hundred ( 500) gallons or one hundred <br /> twenty ( 120) gallons per bedroom, whichever is greater. <br /> ( 5) The method of aeration shall be mechanical , diffused <br /> air, or both. The method used shall maintain aerobic <br /> conditions at all times. <br /> (6 ) The settling compartment shall have a minimum net <br /> holding capacity equal to twenty (20) percent of the <br /> : volume of the aeration compartment. The design shall <br /> : provide for effective settling and continuous return of <br /> � settled sludge to the aeration compartment ' <br /> 17 <br /> 2 <br /> L <br />
