(4 ) When the Dosing Device is a siphon , a regular <br /> maintenance inspection shall be made at a <br /> minimum of six (6) month intervals by the <br /> owner or his agent. The siphon shall be <br /> maintained in operating condition at all <br /> times. <br /> ( 5) When the Dosing Device is a pump, it shall be <br /> cast iron or bronze fitted with stainless <br /> steel screws or constructed of other sound , <br /> durable and corrosion-resistant materials as <br /> approved by the Zoning Administrator. <br /> (6) Where the soil treatment area is at a higher <br /> elevation than the pump, sufficient dynamic <br /> head shall be provided for both the elevation <br /> difference and friction loss. <br /> (7) Where the Dosing Device is a pump, an alarm <br /> device shall be installed to provide warning <br /> of pump failure. <br /> (8) Electrical service ±o_pumps and control shall <br /> be completed in compliance with the Minnesota <br /> State Electrical Code or as amended . Separate <br /> electrical permits and inspections are <br /> required from the Minnesota Board of <br /> Electricity. <br /> e. Dosing Devices for pressure distribution : <br /> ( 1 ) The dosing device shall be a pump which is <br /> cast iron or bronze fitted and with stainless <br /> steel screws or constructed of sound , durable <br /> and corrosion-resistant materials. <br /> (2) The pump discharge capacity shall be a minimum <br /> of seven and one741alf (7 1/2) gallons per <br /> minute for each one hundred ( 100) square feet <br /> of soil treatment area. <br /> (3) The pump discharge head shall be at least five <br /> ( 5) feet greater than the head required to <br /> overcome pipe friction losses and the <br /> elevation difference between the pump and the <br /> distribution device. <br /> (4) The quantity of effluent delivered for each <br /> pump cycle shall be no greater than <br /> twenty-five (25) percent of one ( 1 ) day' s <br /> sewage flow. <br /> ( 5) An alarm device shall be installed to provide <br /> warning of pump failure. <br /> 21 <br /> 2 <br />
