<br /> 6.7 Attorney
<br /> Charles Johnson submitted his written report. Mr. Johnson spoke to Sarah
<br /> Mardell in regard to the vacation of the easement. Asked her for written
<br /> agreement stating they will incur the costs of the attorney and engineer.
<br /> Matter to be placed on the agenda of March 21.

<br /> 6.8 Engineer
<br /> Mr. Kuusisto submitted hi:s written report. Hugo has sent the plan they desire
<br /> concerning the Centerville interceptor, to the Metro Waste Control Commission.
<br /> The MWCC has chosen to go along the southern route and obtain easements where
<br /> necessary.
<br /> MOTION: Irsfeld made motion, seconded by Schietty, to accept the Engineer's
<br /> report, as submitted.

<br /> 6.4 Building Inspector
<br /> Mr. Tom Crever submitted his report stating he had checked the fireplace of
<br /> Mr. Dan Goeltl, 14481 Hyde Avenue North, and stated a fire had taken place
<br /> because of fault construction.
<br /> MOTION: Schietty made motion, seconded by Irsfeld to accept the Building
<br /> Inspector's report and place on file.
<br /> VOTING FOR: Spitzer, Schietty, Irsfeld, and Vail. MOTION CARRIED
<br /> Mr. Jim Vomela, 142621 Hyde Avenue North, stated he would like to have the
<br /> Building Inspector check on fireplaces built by this contractor.
<br /> Mr. Spitzer stated that he does not want the city to be put in the middle
<br /> of a dispute between home owners and the contractor. He also stated that
<br /> when an inspection is made, every minute detail is not inspected. The Building
<br /> Inspector does not necessarily have to inspect every detail of every building.
<br /> Mrs. Goeltl, 14481 Hyde Avenue North, asked Mr. Crever what he thought of
<br /> their basement fireplace. Mr. Crever said he could not make a judgment be—
<br /> cause he did not see it constructed.
<br /> Mr. Jim Ranacier, 14501 Hyde Avenue North, stated he would also like to see
<br /> an inspection made of the fireplaces built by that certain contractor. Mr.
<br /> Irsfeld asked Mr. Crever if he would be able to determine if the fireplace
<br /> was safe, seeing he wasn't there when it was constructed. Mr. Crever replied
<br /> likely not. Mr. Crever stated that fireplaces are not required inspections.
<br /> He will try to check on them when they are constructed in the future.
<br /> Mr. Johnson summarized that the matter was a private one between the home
<br /> owner and the contractor.
<br /> There has been a problem of people not applying for plumbing, heating, and
<br /> well permits.
<br /> MOTION: Vail made motion, seconded by Schietty, that the City Clerk make
<br /> a check list for the purpose of applying for building, heating,
<br /> plumbing, and well permits.
