<br /> MOTION: LaValle made motion, seconded by Spitzer, that the City of Hugo hold
<br /> a special meeting at Hugo Elementary School, on April 12, 1977, at
<br /> 8:00 P.M., in regard to the proposed solid sanitary landfill in Hugo.
<br /> VOTING FOR: LaValle, Spitzer, Schletty, Irsfeld, and Vail. MOTION CARRIED
<br /> 6.0 REPORTS OF OrriCERS & COMMITTEES
<br /> 6.1 Ordinance Committee
<br /> Mr. Spitzer stated that they have worked on the subdivision ordinance. They
<br /> have also submitted a draft of the fire viewer ordinance to Charles Johnson.
<br /> 6.2 Planning Commission
<br /> Mr. Larry Irsfeld will set up a speo.ial meeting in regard to the Systems State—
<br /> ment as presented by Metro Council. Spitzer suggested that Carl Dale be request—
<br /> ed to attend.
<br /> 6.3 Water Superintendent
<br /> Mr. Burkard requested approval to attend the advanced water seminar held at
<br /> the Thunderbird Motel on April 18, 19, and 20. The fee it $27.00 plus mileage.
<br /> MOTION: Spitzer made motion, seconded by Irsfeld, that the City Counc_1 approve
<br /> Mr. Burkard attendance at the advanced water seminar to be held at the
<br /> Thunderbird Motel, on April 18, 19, and 20, for a fee of $27.00 plus
<br /> mileage.
<br /> VOTING FOR: LaValle, Spitzer, Schletty, Irsfeld, and Vail. MOTION CARRIED
<br /> HCTION: Spitzer made motion, seconded by LaValle, that the City Council approve
<br /> Mr. George Koland attendance at the basic water seminar, at the Thund—
<br /> erbird Motel.
<br /> VOTING FOR: LaValle, Spitzer, Schletty, Irsfeld, and VAil. MOTION CARRIED
<br /> Mr. Burkard suggested that more coverage was needed at the pump house drain
<br /> fielq. Mr. Kuusisto suggested that it needed to be insulated. Mr. Kuusisto
<br /> will get a cost estimate for insulation and report later.
<br /> 6.4 Building Inspector
<br /> Mr. Crever submitted his written report. LaValle asked Crever if he was having
<br /> any problem with the system of handling building permits. He replied no. The
<br /> City Clerk felt the system was not working, because she was not equipped to
<br /> handle the questions asked by the applicants. LaValle suggested that Mr. Crever
<br /> work on setting up an instruction sheet for filling out the applications.
<br /> 6.5 Fire Chiaf
<br /> Mr. Olson, at present, is holding the fire contract with Forest Lake. No report
<br /> at this time.
<br /> MOTION: Spitzer made motion, seconded by LaValle, that the City Engineer be
<br /> authorized to produce the appropriate map as requested by the Fire
<br /> Department.
<br /> VOTING FOR: LaValle, Spitzer, Schetty, Irsfeld, and Vail. MOTION CARRIED
<br /> 6.6 Police Chief
<br /> ?r. Barth submitted his written report. No discussion.
<br /> 6.7 Attorney,
<br /> Mr. Johnson submitted his written report. There has been no decision made in
<br /> regard to the White Bear Rod and Gun Club. Mr. Jungblut has not submitted his
<br /> final plan. City Clerk to check on status, because of the time element involv—
<br /> ed. The Cyril LaCasse variance request is to be placed on the next Planning
<br /> commission agenda.
<br /> 6.8 Engineer
<br /> Mr. Kuusisto submitted his written report.
<br /> 6.9 Clerk
<br /> A seminar on new developments in solid waste management will be held at the
<br /> Sheraton Inn Northwest on May 3,4, 1977. Mayor LaValle would like someone to
<br /> attend. Matter to be discussed at the next council meeting,April 18, 1977.
