Mr. Barth's recommendation was to purchase the car from McMillan <br /> Dodge. <br /> MOTION: Spitzer made motion, seconded by Irsfeld, to purchase a <br /> squad car from McMillan Dodge, and trade in old car. Bid <br /> price of $4627.32 with a delivery time of 90 days. <br /> VOTING FOR: LaValle, Spitzer, Schletty, Irsfeld, and Vail <br /> MOTION CARRIED <br /> Chief Barth stated that he could stretch the red light and siren for one year, but <br /> definitely needs a new cage (safety shield). <br /> MOTION: LaValle made motion, seconded by Spitzer, that the bid from <br /> Northdale Ford and 5% check be returned to them. <br /> VOTING FOR: LaValle, Spitzer, Schletty, Irsfeld, and Vail <br /> MOTION CARRIED <br /> MOTION: LaValle made motion, seconded by Spitzer, that the Police <br /> Chief be authorized to transfer the present safety equipment <br /> from the present car to the new car, and that he purchase necessary <br /> safety shield to be installed in new car at a cost of approximately <br /> $200.00. <br /> VOTING FOR: LaValle, Spitzer, Schletty, Irsfeld, and Vail <br /> MOTION CARRIED <br /> MOTION: Irsfeld made motion, seconded by Spitzer, that the bills <br /> associated with the Police squad car be turned over to Police <br /> Chief for verification and accounting of all expenses incurred <br /> to date and to be incorporated as a future practice for the <br /> Police Chief. <br /> VOTING FOR: LaValle, Spitzer, Schletty, Irsfeld, and Vail <br /> MOTION CARRIED <br /> Police Chief Barth to check with Motorola to see what it would cost to replace the <br /> visi-bar of squad car. <br /> 7.2 Comment from Council members regarding system statements <br /> LaValle stated that Carl Dale is working on the grant to receive money for the Land <br /> Planning Act. Council members discussed questionable areas regarding Hugo's system <br /> statements. Attorney Johnson made note of these areas for incorporation into Hugo's <br /> appeal with the Metro Council. City Clerk stated she would investigate the Metro <br /> Council's definition of benefits pertaining to free standing growth area and rural service <br /> area. Counciman Irsfeld is to set up a meeting to be attended by Attorney Johnson, <br /> Engineer Kuusisto, Carl Dale, and a City Council member. <br />
