MARCH 20, 1978 [, ,� <br /> Screening of salvage yards �7 <br /> The Highway Department rejected the first proposal as submitted to the <br /> city. A new proposal has been submitted, and has been referred to the <br /> Planning Commission for their review. <br /> MOTION: LaValle made motion, seconded by Spitzer, that the <br /> Planning Commission consider the request of the City <br /> Council to include the item of screening of salvage <br /> yards in Hugo. <br /> VOTING FOR: LaValle, Spitzer, and Vail <br /> MOTION CARRIED <br /> MOTION: LaValle made motion, seconded by Spitzer, that the <br /> Board of Review be set for May 9, 1978, Hugo City Hall, <br /> from 9:30 AM - 3:00 PM for the purpose of considering <br /> the review of the Washington County tax assessments. <br /> VOTING FOR: LaValle, Spitzer, and Vail <br /> MOTION CARRIED <br /> 7.0 UNFINISHED BUSINESS <br /> 7.1 Health Officers Report on Simpson <br /> The officers could not report at this time, but will inspect the site at <br /> a later date. The Simpsons' property is being checked for possible sewer <br /> problems. <br /> 8,0 NEW BUSINESS <br /> 8.1 Fill vacancy on Planning Commission <br /> MOTION: Spitzer made motion, seconded by LaValle, to appoint Dave <br /> Woeltge to fill the vacancy on the Planning Commission. <br /> VOTING FOR: LaValle, Spitzer, and Vail <br /> MOTION CARRIED <br /> 9.0 CLERK - no discussion <br /> 10.0 MISCELLANEOUS <br /> Mr. Johnson stated that there was a public hearing held in Stillwater dealing <br /> with the condemnation of land for power lines. The objections of the city <br /> were noted at the hearing. There is a descrepancy in where the city feels the <br /> easment lies and where NSP thinks it is. <br /> Mr. Johnson stated that there is still work to be done on the systems state- <br /> ment. He felt that the Council should review all of the suggested changes. <br /> Another meeting will have to be set up with Metro Council, and Lino Lakes <br /> regarding Open Space. A resolution was sent to Metro Council, but the city <br /> has not received a reply from them. <br /> MOTION: Spitzer made motion, seconded by LaValle, to direct the <br /> City Clerk to send a letter to Metro Council, Mr. Bob <br /> Nethercutt, as to the status of the resolution sent regarding <br /> Open Space. <br />
