80 JUNE 18, 1979
5.5 Joe Oman - Traffic in trailer court
The Fire Chief had previously stated that emergency vehicles were
having difficulty crossing the speed bumps in the trailer court. He
was wondering if they could be modified. Mr. Oman was present, and
stated that the bumps were needed in the court to regulate speed for
the protection of the residents in the park. LaValle also felt that
something should be done with the parking of cars in the area (one way
streets with parking on one side only). LaValle will meet with the
Fire Chief, Mr. Oman, and the City Engineer to try and resolve these
problems.
5.6 Safeway House Movers - Letter of Credit
Mr. Sempel has a letter of credit in the amount of $2,000.00 to cover
planting of trees along 165th Street and on the west side of the rail-
road tracks - the length of the property. Police Chief Barth had in-
spected the area and reported that trees had been planted along 165th
Street, but not on the west side.
MOTION: LaValle made motion, seconded by Vail, that a registered
letter be sent to Safeway House Movers stating that they
have until June 22, 1979, to comply with Item 2 of their
Special Use Permit or extend the letter of credit. If
these options are not accomplished, the city will draw
on the Letter of Credit in the amount of $2,000.00 and
the city will plant the seedlings.
VOTING FOR: LaValle, Irsfeld and Vail
MOTION CARRIED
'.7 Schmidtv's - Letter of Credit
Richard & Larry Schmidt have a letter of credit, in the amount of
$12,000.00, to cover the installation of a rail fence, 3 feet in height,
along the west property line. Chief Barth reported that this condition
of the Special Use Permit has not been met.
MOTION: LaValle made motion, seconded by Irsfeld, that the City
Clerk be directed to send a registered letter to Richard and Larry
Schmidt stating that their letter of credit, in the amount of $12,000.00,
to cover installation of the rail fence as conditioned in Item 5 of their
Special Use Permit, will expire on July 18, 1979, and the fence has not
been constructed. If they do not anticipate having the fence constructed
by July 16, 1979, the City of Hugo will draw on their letter of credit
and construct the fence.
VOTING FOR: LaValle, Irsfeld and Vail
MOTION CARRIED
