January 18, 1982 10 <br /> 6.0 ORDINANCES AND RESOLUTIONS - No discussion <br /> 7.0 UNFINISHED BUSINESS <br /> Mr. Johnson has been in contact with Mr. Bennet regarding the warranty on the new <br /> roof installed in '81 . Mr. Bennet was to contact the manufacturer to determine <br /> a cost to obtain a 15 year warranty for labor and materials. To date he had not <br /> heard from him. <br /> Mayor LaValle had met with the finance director and fire chief for the city of <br /> White Bear Lake, to discuss the contract for ambulance and paramedic service. The <br /> city has until February 1 , 1982 to make their decision. If Hugo decides not to <br /> sign, they will attempt to eliminate ambulance service for the city. <br /> MOTION: McAllister made motion, seconded by Vail, that the Mayor be authorized <br /> to delete, in Item 8, the words "and shall renew automatically". Item 8 <br /> to read as follows: TERM. The term of this Agreement shall be five (5) <br /> years, commencing January 1 , 1982, unless terminated by the contracting <br /> jurisdiction or the City by giving at lease two (2) years written notice. <br /> The Mayor is authorized to sign the Agreement if acceptable to the City <br /> of White Bear Lake. <br /> MOTION: McAllister made motion, seconded by Vail, to amend the previous motion <br /> adding that if the change in the contract is not acceptable to the City <br /> of White Bear Lake, the Mayor be authorized to sign the Agreement as it exists. <br /> VOTING FOR AMENDMENT: McAllister, Vail <br /> VOTING AGAINST AMENDMENT: LaValle, Schletty <br /> MOTION FAILED <br /> VOTING FOR ORIGINAL MOTION: LaValle, McAllister, Schletty, Vail <br /> MOTION CARRIED <br /> Mayor LaValle met with Bob Lockyear, Washington County Planner, to discuss Metro's <br /> letter of September 21 , 1981 , regarding Hugo's Comprehensive Plan. LaValle felt <br /> that the Council and professional staff should meet jointly to try and address their <br /> comments. <br /> The city receiveda letter from Wilson Tool regarding the Bald Eagle Industrial Park's <br /> requirements for drainage as required by Rice Creek Watershed. At one time, Rice <br /> Creek had approved an overall drainage plan for the park, but the plan was never im- <br /> plemented. Rice Creek has now been requiring individual ponding areas on each parcel. <br /> Wilson Tool questioned whether it would be feasible to look at a total drainage picture. <br /> LaValle stated that he will contact the City Engineer about a cost estimate for a <br /> preliminary study prior to any inf ormatiora]neeting with the property owners,affected <br /> by the drainage. <br /> 9.0 ATTORNEY AND ENGINEER <br /> Attorney Johnson has submitted a letter to Arnold Monson advising him of current <br /> obligations incurred for the Douglas Kruse septic system. A copy of same was sub- <br /> mitted to the surety company and their attorney. Because the $4,000 bond is a re- <br /> imbursement on actual money spent, Mr. Johnson suggested that Duane Cardinal start <br /> installation as soon as possible. <br />
