Hugo City Council Meeting Minutes for December 7,2015 <br /> Page 6 of 10 <br /> Approve Reduction in the Letter of Credit for OP3 Prairie Village LLC for Waters Edge, <br /> 5th Addition <br /> OP3 Prairie Village LLC had requested the City reduce their letter of credit for the Water's Edge <br /> 5th Addition Development. Senior Engineering Technician Steve Duff had inspected the work <br /> and recommended approval. Adoption of the Consent Agenda approved the reduction of the <br /> letter of credit being held for the constructed improvements in the Water's Edge 5th Addition <br /> Development to$54,726.38of the original letter of credit amount of$304,115.00. <br /> Approve Resignation of Firefighter Carrie Nvblom from the Hugo Fire Department <br /> Firefighter Carrie Nyblom has submitted her letter of resignation to Fire Chief Kevin Colvard. <br /> Adoption of the Consent Agenda approved the resignation of Carrie Nyblom from the Hugo Fire <br /> Department effective December 22,2015. <br /> Approve Hiring of Probationary Fighters on the Hugo Fire Department <br /> The Hugo Fire Department had recruited six individuals to serve on the Department as <br /> probationary firefighters. Adoption of the Consent Agenda approved the hiring of Andrew <br /> Luchsinger,Matthew Drew,Jason Palmquist,Michael Wamsley, and Justin Williams as <br /> probationary firefighters, and Zaheer Khan as a probationary firefighter pending the results of the <br /> medical evaluation. <br /> Approve Completion of Probationary Period for Firefighters Rick Gregoire and Bryan <br /> Kindelberger <br /> Firefighters Rick Gregoire and Bryan Kindleberger have completed their probationary period. <br /> Adoption of the Consent Agenda approved placement of Gregoire and Kindleberger on the fire <br /> department at firefighter status. <br /> Presentation of 2016 City Budget and Tax Levy-Finance Director Ron Otldn <br /> State Statutes require the City Council to hold a public hearing on the proposed city budget and <br /> tax levy for the 2016 fiscal year. Finance Director Ron Otkin presented the proposed budget and <br /> tax levy to the Council. He explained that due to a decrease in taxable market value the <br /> proposed tax levy was reduced by$83,000 from the current levy in order to maintain a flat tax <br /> rate. He presented state and local comparisons that show the City's tax rate is considerably <br /> lower than the state wide average and is one of the lowest tax rates in Washington County. <br /> Finance Director Otkin provided an overview of the tax levy and general fund budget. <br /> Mayor Weidt opened the public hearing. There were no comments, and the Mayor closed the <br /> public hearing. <br /> Weidt made motion,Klein seconded,to approve RESOLUTION 2015-58 APPROVING THE <br /> GENERAL FUND BUDGET FOR THE 2016 FISCAL YEAR. <br /> Ayes: Klein,Petryk,Miron,Haas,Weidt <br />
