Motion carried. <br /> Weidt made motion, Klein seconded,to schedule a neighborhood meeting to discuss road <br /> improvements on 180t Street. <br /> All Ayes. Motion carried. <br /> White Bear Lake Community Services and Recreation Department Senior Study <br /> White Bear Lake Area Schools Community Services and Recreation Department conducted a <br /> telephone survey to gain a better understanding of the changing senior population. Parks Planner <br /> Shayla Syverson explained that people ages 60 and older account for 16%of the overall <br /> population of the district,and that number is growing. White Bear Lake Area Schools was <br /> requesting a donation between$2,000 and $4,000 to go towards the cost of the$42,000 survey <br /> conducted by Morris Leatherman Company. The City of Hugo is invited to hear the results of <br /> the survey at a community forum on Wednesday,December 9 at the District Center at 4855 <br /> Bloom Avenue in White Bear Lake from 3-4:30pm. <br /> Klein made motion,Petryk seconded,to contribute$3,000 for payment to the White Bear Lake <br /> School District for the survey. <br /> All Ayes. Motion carried. <br /> Update on Yellow Ribbon Network <br /> Council Member Chuck Haas and Council Member Phil Klein reported to Council on the Yellow <br /> Ribbon Network activities held recently.Hanzel Construction served 176 burgers at the <br /> November Hamburger Night.The Secret Santa program is underway for 20 families. Packing <br /> events were held on November 15 and December 5. At the next Council meeting,the <br /> Hamburger Night sponsors will be recognized. There will be no Hamburger Night in December. <br /> The next one will be in January sponsored by Lake Area Bank. <br /> Update on the Metropolitan Area Water Supply Advisory Committee. <br /> Haas provided an update on the Metropolitan Area Water Supply Advisory Committee <br /> (MAWSAC). The Committee had developed bylaws, and there have been many changes that <br /> have resulted in a new cooperative spirit. Legislators had made changes to the Committee and <br /> the Water Supply Plan by adding a technical advisory committee to report to the legislators. <br /> Application are now being accepted to be on this technical advisory panel. The MAWSAC will <br /> now be meeting more often,and Haas informed Council he has resigned from the committee due <br /> to his inability to make all the meetings. <br /> The Mayor thanked Haas for his time and service on the committee. <br />
