Economic Development Extra <br />Christ Lutheran Church and Cornerstone Early Learning Center <br />Opening Soon! <br />Starting this fall, the church and learning center will open to the public for <br />services and childcare. They are located at 4790 Rosemary Way North. The <br />learning center will serve infants (6 weeks) to preschoolers (5 years old) and <br />will open on September 2nd. To learn more about the church services and child- <br />care please visit their website at http://christlutheran-wels.org. <br />Keystone Place at Lavalle Fields Senior Housing Construction <br />In May, the City Council approved the site plan for a 100 unit senior housing <br />building located just west of Lions Park. The project includes independent, <br />assisted, and memory care living. They have applied for a building permit and <br />expect to complete construction in August of 2015. For more information, <br />please contact them at 651-888-6557 or visit www.keystonesenior.com. <br />New Life Church Receives Approval for an Addition <br />This summer, New Life Church received approval from <br />the City Council for a 4,500 building addition to its exist- <br />ing 6,000 square foot church. The property is located at <br />6000 148th Street North. The building addition will <br />include a fellowship hall as well as renovations to the <br />sanctuary. The church is hoping to start construction soon <br />and to be fully completed next year. <br />Update to the Downtown Market Study <br />In addition to marketing the City owned property in <br />downtown, the City updated an existing market study for <br />the downtown area funded by a Metropolitan Council <br />Livable Communities Grant. Maxfield Research Inc. <br />completed a market study in 2005 and was engaged to <br />update the study in 2013. The scope of the market study <br />included demographics, market conditions, and evalua- <br />tion of the market potential for commercial uses. There is <br />exciting information on the study for the market demand <br />in downtown Hugo. <br />The full market study is available on the City website un- <br />der Economic Development.
