Rachel Berger made a motion, Larsen seconded directing Public Works [Staff] to <br />evaluate fixing the tennis courts, initiating long term planning of Lions Park and <br />adding Lions Park to the agenda of the City bus tour. <br />All Aye. Motion Carried. <br />III. Update on Hansen Property (Jim Taylor) <br />Taylor updated the Commission on the Hansen property. The purchase agreement <br />was signed on July 28 (the effective date) with the closing date 90 days from the <br />effective date. The closing is contingent upon conditions such as cleaning of the <br />property and the City's ability to get financing through the sale of bonds. Shayla <br />Syverson, Economic Development/Parks Intern informed the Commission that the <br />City Council may approve a neighborhood meeting to be held on September 2, 2009 <br />to discuss the interim use and purchase of this property. <br />Roger Clark made a motion, Berger seconded to add an additional Parks <br />Commission meeting for September 2nd, 2009. <br />All Aye. Motion Carried <br />IV. Hunting on City Property Update (Dennis Fields) <br />Dennis Fields, Community Development Assistant gave a presentation on the <br />Hunting Committee recommendations. Changes to the ordinance regulating <br />shooting were drafted from the outcome of these meeting to reflect state statutes in <br />regards to shooting and distances. Hunting issues on Bald Eagle Lake were also <br />discussed. <br />Jim Taylor made a motion, Berger seconded to recommend changes to the shooting <br />regulations as presented by City Staff. <br />All Aye. Motion Carried <br />Roger Clark made a motion, Berger seconded to do nothing in regards to shooting <br />on Bald Eagle Lake and to encourage the Hunting Committee to create a map <br />defining areas to allow hunting. <br />All Aye. Motion Carried <br />Jim Taylor made a motion, Clark seconded to direct staff to research means to <br />control the transportation of weapons and firearms. <br />All Aye. Motion Carried. <br />
