III. Discussion on Health Sub -Committee <br />Larsen is working on setting up the Health Sub -Committee and scheduling the first <br />meeting. Berger and Schmidt volunteered to participate and further emails will be sent <br />to help form this committee. <br />IV. Discussion on Communitv Inaut Proiect Results <br />Shayla Syverson, Economic Development/Parks Intern summarized the commission <br />discussion on the community input project results, after commission discussion <br />determined and asked for direction in next steps. <br />Berger made a motion, Birch seconded to direct staff to continue marketing, research <br />skate park options, put a hold on researching dog parks except to inform residents of the <br />availability of non-active parks for off -leash dog use and update the commission on trail <br />development between 1401h and 145t" <br />All Ayes. Motion Carried. <br />V. Discussion on Earth Day <br />Shayla Syverson, Economic Development/Parks Intern informed of Rice Creek <br />Watershed District offering a program facilitator to teach an educational activity with the <br />community as part of Earth Day. The scheduled Earth Day Clean-up of Clearwater <br />Creek Preserve is on April 17, 2010. Clarke reminded the commission that the Kidz N <br />Biz event is also held on this date and encouraged looking into a program facilitator for a <br />different date. This would give more opportunity for a greater participation level in an <br />environmental education program with the community. All commission members <br />agreed. <br />VI. Undate on Parks and Recreation Proarammina Sub -Committee <br />Scott Anderson, Public Works Director went over discussions that were held with White <br />Bear Lake Soccer Association and Mahtomedi Soccer Association Presidents in <br />reference to field layout, sizes, markings and how many fields would be necessary. Staff <br />will follow up with scheduling the fields. <br />Movie Night at Oneka Elementary was a success with high participation levels. Needs <br />of a larger screen and possible options of snack sales from the Fireflies were options for <br />future events. The next Movie Night is Friday, March 19. <br />Larsen made a motion, Windisch seconded to approve up to $350.00 for movie screen <br />rental. <br />All Ayes. Motion carried. <br />
